Well drat! Back up 4/10 of a pound this morning, which is baffling since yesterday was my lowest calorie day of the week, and since I walked about a mile at the Farmer's Market and hayride at the park yesterday. I also got in all my water and had normal bowel activity. Sometimes, weight loss or gain seems to have nothing to do with my behavior from the day before. Sigh. Still hoping for a good loss for tomorrow's weigh-in.

As a result of last week's police incident at my daughter's, my granddaughter is not planning to stay at her mom's at all this week. Usually she spends half of the week at her dad's and half at her mom's. As a result, I have to go about 30 miles to pick her up from her father's work today and have her spend the night here. I also may have to have her spend the night here again on Tuesday. I really hope they will get this thing figured out between themselves. I don't want to be caught in the middle of it!

Having Cracker Barrel Homestyle Chicken today (ONE breast, which is half of what they serve you). I'll also have veggies with it today. Tomorrow, I'll have the other chicken breast on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and ranch dressing. At BJ's last week, I got a box of (2 trays of) Chicken Parmesan. Going to try that on Tuesday and Wednesday. It comes on spaghettini, so it should be a full meal in itself. Friday will be Pub Style Cod. Haven't made a decision about Saturday and Sunday yet. Planning the whole week of menu choices has really helped me to stay on track.

Patience my friend. I've been eating right and my weight is all over the place this week, too. But look at the overall trend, you're doing beautifully.

Something I find frustrating with FatSecret, is that not all the nutritional facts are correct. Your calories looked low for something from Cracker Barrel, so I went to their website and got the actual number of calories, sodium, fat etc. and a half serving of the country chicken there is actually 530 cal, 29 g of fat, 35.5 g protein and 1370 g of sodium. And even if you calculate it at .35 of a serving like you did (assuming you ate a smaller breast?) the numbers are 371 cal, 20.3 g fat, 24.9 g protein and a whopping 959 g sodium. The sodium alone would probably affect your weight gain. You’ll probably get rid of that weight once all that sodium is out of your system! I have done the same thing with putting the numbers in and it doesn’t make sense because I shouldn’t be gaining weight. You’re doing great and I wish you continued success!

Don't get worked up about that, it could simply be water retention, lack of waste elimination or scale misbehaving 🤷.

The scale can vary over a day or so, even though you did nothing wrong. This is a fundamental truth that you must understand in order to be successful at losing weight without getting stressed out. Another fundamental truth is that you can always recover from a binge/overeating (not that this is relevant to your post- I don't think you overate). The only other big one I can think of is that habits beat motivation every time, especially in the long run. You're doing great, Debbie!

It's typical for weight to not have any relation to what you did the prior day. If you walked that much, your muscles may have retained some water. It's happened to me before. Focus on trends, not just the reading on any one day

Building on Broccolibabe’s comment, I always double check the nutritional information in the FS database against a restaurant’s website or product’s nutritional info. Often, existing data is out of date or incomplete. In which case I either edit the existing info or create a whole new nutritional entry. It isn’t perfect, but it is close enough😊
