Debbie Cousins's Journal, 20 Sep 22

Weight down 8/10 of a pound this morning. Still not back into the 237's where I was a few days ago, but at least moving in the right direction again. This morning, I was tempted to have a second slice of Dave's Killer Good Seed Bread with butter. I resisted, though, and just had my scheduled cantaloupe and honeydew melon. I think those will tide me over until lunch.

Looking forward to trying the Michael Angelo's Chicken Parmesan from BJ's. It has to be cooked in the oven. The directions on the box were funny. They said you COULD cook it in the microwave, "but notta so good." I'm debating on whether to have some shredded lettuce and tomato with it, but that darn homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing is so calorie heavy! It's a shame it's the only dressing I really like. I would eat a lot more salads if the dressing didn't use so many calories!

Going to get a Shingles shot today. I don't really WANT to get a shingles shot, but my husband keeps saying, "you KNOW how you hate to itch - shingles is an itch that you can't scratch!" I DO hate to itch! To me, Hell would be eternal itching.

Hoping the cantaloupe and honeydew I ate this morning will stimulate some bowel movement. I didn't go as much as I would have liked yesterday. I'm tempted to eat a couple Russell Stover Sugar-free candies, since they definitely make me go - but a week ago Sunday, I didn't make it to the bathroom in time! Thankfully, it was well before time for church!

OK, my mother-in-law is coming over after church in the morning. It ends at 11, and I'm taking her to a doctor appointment which doesn't start until 12:15, so she'll be coming here for lunch before we leave (we live next door to the church). I'm just making bacon and tomato sandwiches, and I can have them ready when she gets here. Thing is, though, there are several things I need to do before she comes into my house - vacuum, dust, clean the bathroom counter and mirrors. She keeps an immaculate house. My house is relatively "tidy," but it isn't by any stretch of the imagination immaculate!

It's Tuesday. How did the first day of the week go for everyone? Did you get off to a good start?

Good luck to your shingles shot, I had that years ago and it's very painful. I got it by my eyes and the doctor was concerned I would lose my 👁️. Shingles is no joke. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your week!!!

Thank you, @cmj29. It ended up that you needed an appointment to get the shot at CVS, so we had to reschedule for next Tuesday. I'd much rather have the shot than have shingles.

Debbie, have you tried Bolthouse yogurt dressings? I like them very much and most of them are 45 calories for two tablespoons, which isn't bad. I also sometimes add a couple of tablespoons of wine vinegar to my salad along with the dressing, but that may be too vinegary for you (growing up, we never used dressing on our salads, just salt, pepper and vinegar). Good luck with your shingles shot, I got my first one last week, no problems.

Oh Shir! I also was going to suggest Bolthouse yogurt based dressings, too. Debbie, they taste delicious! No yogurt taste at all but creamy tasting. I use avocado cilantro flavor all the time. Look in the refrigerated section for them.

My favorite is the Bolthouse Blue Cheese dressing. I also will use salsa as a dressing - I love it. Sometimes I mix my own dressing using low fat yogurt and a packet of the powdered ranch dressing mix.
