Debbie Cousins's Journal, 21 Sep 22

Doggone it! Same weight this morning. Still higher than it was four days ago! I don't get it. I'm still maintaining the same calorie intake, same amount of salt, same amount of water, same amount of (non) exercise. Starting to become discouraging. My crazy mind thinks: "Discouraged? Another slice of Dave's Killer Bread will fix that!" Trying not to listen to the voices in my head.

Debbie, what helps me to keep things in perspective is doing a weekly averages page. All I do is copy and paste then fill out the new numbers. Being able to go and look at the real solid numbers squash those voices and get you off the rollercoaster! If you want to do one it takes 4 minutes or less start to finish. No pressure, everyone finds their own way and I know you will too. I'm here if I can help :-) PM me if you'd rather. I can make up a template for your needs and shoot it over. :-)

My brother told me that at his heaviest, he would get so down about it, he'd eat an entire bag of potato chips to comfort himself. It's a trap! Stay the course, and don't fall into it. Bodies don't always cooperate in a linear weight loss. I've seen you make massive improvements in your habits, and I'd encourage you to continue! 👍

It’s an easy trap to fall into, I’ve done it many times myself. Remind yourself you ARE making progress. You’ve come so far! Just for today, you won’t be a seduced by killer Dave. You are amazing Debbie! May God bless your day!

Debbie, sometimes we see a weight loss on the scale due to additional fluid loss, food digesting faster, etc. It may take a few days....or longer for your actual body weight to catch up & stabilize. It will go down again when you continue on the right path, doing the things you know are right. Don't give in to those voices!! You're doing great.

Keep on keeping on! You really are doing great! It is just a number on the scale! Think about what you are accomplishing for your health no matter what the scales say. Health is wealth. You got this!:)👍

Congratulations for every time you resist the bread. I'm proud of you. It has taken me 12 days to lose 1 lb, and I have been "very, very" strict. More so than I could keep at, long term. It is just the way it is. And the older we get, the harder it becomes to lose. And usually, we wear a larger size at a certain weight than we did years before. But isn't it wonderful to be going down? I'm glad for you, and I'm glad for me too.

If you self-sabotage now, you will have wasted all your hard work for the week. That drop will come and it will be worth the wait. Hang in there!

Google and read an article titled, "Why the Scale Lies" It will help you

Maybe you should try the tape measure over the scale. I'm frequently changing shape if not pounds. Another thought is maybe you need to shock your metabolism. If doing the same thing isn't getting the result you expect, try upping calories and protein for a couple of days only. Then go back to your plan. Frequently that makes your body adjust how it's working. Above all Never Give Up Your Fabulous Progress! You've Got This!

Debbie I am trying to only weigh myself once a week. I also think the take measure thing is a good idea. God has this
