Debbie Cousins's Journal, 25 Sep 22

Wow, down another pound this morning! I'm so thankful that I'm getting better results now!

Today, I'm going to have the other half of the pancakes. The menu for this week is: Monday finish the Beef Stew, Tuesday Stouffer's Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Wednesday-Friday Chinese Casserole, Saturday country ham biscuits, and Sunday Gorton's Pub-Style Cod and Baked Potato with cheese, bacon and ranch dressing (that'll be my higher calorie day for the week). I've never before in my life made weekly menu plans, but I really like doing it now!

Did a little too much standing (doing dishes) and walking around the house without the walker yesterday. Knee hurting worse again today. Still only about a #4 pain level, though, which is manageable with a Tizanidine and Diclofenac gel. Doesn't hurt badly enough to keep me from going to church this morning, PTL.

If I maintain the losses from yesterday and today until tomorrow's weekly weigh-in, I will have lost 2.8 pounds in the week - the most I've lost in a single week since Weeks #1 and #2, when I first started this diet plan (you always lose more at the beginning, at least in my experience). At the beginning of the week, I was so discouraged because I had gained some weight for no apparent reason, and then was holding onto that weight for several days. SO GLAD I didn't let my discouragement make me go off the rails. Thank you all for your encouragement and support during that time!

I just realized that completing 13 weeks is a school semester. Let's see, time to "grade" myself. I'd give myself an "A-" for Effort (too many snack-size candies and creme brulee), an "A" for Results (lost 22.6 pounds), a "A" for Fiber, an "A" for Fruits and Veggies, a "C" for Protein, an "A" for Water and a "D" for Exercise. How would you rate yourself for the past 13 weeks? It takes a minute to think about it, but it is pretty revealing.

OH, I'd also give myself an "A" for Journaling and an "A+" for my Food Log.

Hmmm...last 13 weeks. Probably a B overall just because between travel and catching a cold, it hasn't been up to par the last few weeks. You're doing great, Debbie. 😊 Planning ahead to see what you can afford on your budget is a great strategy 👍

I definitely have an F in my food diary, a D- if I'm being generous. An A for water and fiber, but an A- on fruits/veggies and exercise. probably a C for protein, but this is my goal for the end of the year along with better tracking. it's really hard to increase my protein when I don't know exactly where I stand.

what a milestone to plan a week of eating, and the weight loss. I was a bit down by my 4/10ths but did not do my feed the face depression, that was a miracle. Its gonna be a good week. Every miracle required effort of some kind. blessings!
