Debbie Cousins's Journal, 15 Oct 22

Weight finally down to below where it was six days ago - 232.4. Maybe I'll get to 225 eventually. That's the goal I'm working on. Completed my fourth day without my evening toast and butter! Made beef stew yesterday to have for the next couple of days. It is surprisingly low in calories, and I can have a large quantity of it in a serving.

Been craving Cracker Barrel Pecan Pancakes again. Maybe after I get through Monday's weigh-in, I will indulge. Last time, I only ate 1-1/2 pancake a day for two days and it was workable in my calorie goal. Kept my calories in the 1,300's yesterday and the day before. Going to strive to do that again today. The beginning of the week, it was in the 1,500's, 1,600's and 1,700's - so I'm making progress. Giving up that extra 285 calories at night makes it much easier to keep the calories low.

Busy day today! Picking up my grandson at 9am and going to BJ's to get his Halloween costume, then taking him to a Pumpkin Patch. Praying he has a really good time! My knees having been bothering me for about a week but (of course) on a day when I will be out walking more, they are hurting. I put on the Diclofenac but will wait on taking a pain pill until AFTER all the walking at the Pumpkin Patch.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Congratulations on forgoing your evening toast and keeping your calories lower. You are right, it helps fill us up to have low-calorie things. Sorry, your knees are worse. It's raining here. Do you think the cooler weather bothers them more? By the way, did you read my Private Message or last journal? Sorry if it was too much.

Yes, @Snowwhite, I read your last post, but sometimes the website will only let me "Support" but not make any comments, which was the case this morning. So sorry to hear about your daughter!

Hi Debbie, I feel ya on trying to keep the calorie goal! Good for you. I’m usually over, but I exercise everyday (almost). FYI I don’t know knee issues, however for me I started taking a collagen powder everyday and my joints (not just knees) started feeling better!

I figured if you stayed the course, your weight would come around after a few days. Good for you for not falling into the "it's not working, might as well give up" trap over only a few days weigh-ins. Awesome job! 👏👏👏

@BlueSkies54, no I'd never heard of the Diclofenac pills. I have an appointment with my PCP on THursday, and I'll ask him about that! Thanks for the timely advice! @jorissy, is the collagen powder something you have to stir into a drink? If so, I wouldn't be able to do it - but if it is in a capsule, I could try it.
