Debbie Cousins's Journal, 22 Oct 22

Scale was very cooperative this morning. Down from 230 to 229.4! HOORAY! Into the 220's. I was in the 230's from September 9th through October 21's - six weeks. That seems like a long time, but it helps to give me an expectation for how long it may take me to get through the 220's to the two-teens.

I'm actually quite surprised at the loss this morning, as yesterday was an "I want to eat all day" kind of a day. Even with eating a lot of extra things, I was still able to keep my calories down to 1,701. I would prefer the calories be in the 1,400's to 1,500's, but as long as I don't reach 2,000, I'm not "failing" in my own view of things.

I'm excited to see that there is already Forum activity in next week's Daily Accountability Challenge! I ran into a problem this morning, though, which I have contacted Support about. I tried to make a post called, "Avocado - Your Fiber Friend," and it told me it was awaiting approval from the moderator. I'M the moderator, and have never had to "approve" any posts before, and don't even know how to. If you've tried to post in the DA2022-#43 Forum and have run into a problem, please let me know and I'll see if we can get this worked out. Usually it takes a couple of days for Support to get back with me, but maybe we'll have this worked out by Monday when the challenge starts. Maybe someone can to in and try to make a post and let me know if it gets accepted.

We've already got 36 people for next week's challenge. I've got my fingers crossed that we'll have 50 this week, since it's going to be more interactive with increased use of the Challenge Forum. Y'all come!

My six-year-old grandson is looking forward to his first "Trunk or Treat" this afternoon. He'll get to wear his Mandalorian costume and score some candy. Thankfully, that will be going home with him! This is the first one we'll be going to and it is the first one that the Community Pool has ever done, so I hope it isn't a disappointment.

Best wishes for a blessed weekend!

Hi Debbie. Sounds like you have a fun day ahead of you. What is a Daily Accountability challenge? I have no idea how it works.

Congratulations on your move into the 220s. Am very happy for you. A ten-pound loss in 6 weeks is fantastic. As you go down at some point it will take a little more effort, but it is so very worth it. Unless I starve I can't lose a pound a week.

I have discovered that when I have one of those I want to eat days, it's because there's something that my body needs that I'm not getting in what I'm eating already. if you crave a certain food check out the ingredients and find out what real nutritional item your body is needing from that and find a way to get it in the healthier way.

It's always encouraging to drop into the next "decade" on the scale. Congratulations!
