Debbie Cousins's Journal, 21 Nov 22

Well, weight exactly the same as last Monday. I’m thankful that it wasn’t UP. That would have been very discouraging after a 1,500 daily average last week. So, I’ve only lost 10 pounds in the last 8 weeks. In 21 weeks, though, I’ve lost 32.8 pounds - an average of 1.56 pounds a week.

I think I need to do something a bit different to shift my body into high gear. Two of the past 8 weeks, I’ve only maintained, lost zero. Doesn’t seem to be ANY difference since I’ve started walking every day - but I’m really just doing that to be healthier. Still, an increased loss would have been nice.

Trying to practice “in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” For this week, that means accepting a zero loss (zero gain, PTL!) with gratitude.
102.4 kg Lost so far: 15.1 kg.    Still to go: 34.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Hang in there! We are used to losing swiftly when young, so it is frustrating that it takes so much longer to lose it as we get older. I'm going to be happy concentrating on healthy and mark the weight lose down as bonus when it does drop! I think 1.56 weekly average is marvelous.

You are losing at a really good rate. One to two pounds is sustainable and you are right in the middle. Awesome! Exercise has many benefits - strength, flexibility, cardio. It tones our bodies and that is nice. But frankly it really doesn't make much difference on the scale. The biggest bang for the effort is how much we actually eat. The more diligent you are with that piece the more success!

Thanks for all the encouragement, friends! Yes, I need to look at the big picture - not one individual week. Not sure I'll lose any this week, with Thanksgiving desserts, but I will enjoy my holiday in moderation and, hopefully, get right back on track afterwards!
