janetofnq's Journal, 08 Dec 14

Okay, this week I restrict calories and take up walking. I have 17 days to meet my personal goal of being under 80kg by Christmas Day, a 4.5kg loss now because I have been extremely greedy. Sigh. If I am 2kg down next Monday then I can do it.
I bought the Monash Uni. android app to keep track of what I should and shouldn't eat for my newly-diagnosed IBS. My symptoms of gas, bloating, dull pain and nausea have eased considerably and my temper has improved, despite my indulging in wheat products.
In a week or so I will add individual items back into my diet to ascertain the effect.
84.3 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 10.3 kg.    Diet followed: Poorly.

Best of luck. AND, is it really only 17 days to Christmas? I'm trying to get down by 1.8kg, and don't feel I have the undereating/overexercising capacity to do it in time. At the moment I'm trying to decide about after Christmas. Do I weigh during January, so I know the worst immediately, or do I wait till the end of January in the hope that some of my excesses over Christmas/New Year will be gone again?

Should've said the 1.8kg is an interim goal, not that the end is in sight.

I have lots of interim goals ... I miss most, sigh. Unfortunately I celebrate daily with excess food and wine.

'I celebrate daily with excess food and wine' Mine's only food, liver problems mean I can't touch alcohol, but my holiday celebrations will certainly include food of varieties more or less guaranteed to pile on weight. I have significantly reduced the amount of extras I've bought. I had hoped my desire for sweet foods would have gone by now, after no added sugar since February, but unfortunately not.

Thank you for the encouraging comments. It really helps as I have zero confidence in losing all that weight. It just seems so daunting. I will keep on trying regardless.
