Debbie Cousins's Journal, 11 Feb 23

Still a little off the rails. Over 1,800 calories again today. I am on my third bottle of water, though, and will probably get in four before the day is done. My mother-in-law made a Pecan Pie for my husband, whose birthday is tomorrow. He is going to pick it up this afternoon. My plan is to cut the 9" pie into eight pieces and then to only eat 1/2 of a slice a day (228 calories).

Made a nice Lasagna today. I cut the 9x13" pan of it into nine slices. Each slice is 622 calories. That will last for three more days, putting me into next week. Going to try to have lower calorie meals after Tuesday. Shooting to keep calories under 1,600 calories a day next week.

On the bright side, the Entenmann's Rich Frosted PopEm's Donut Holes are all gone, so they won't be a temptation to me anymore. I ate five of them yesterday (425 calories) and four of them today (340 calories). I'm really hoping I will be able to exercise some self-control once that Pecan Pie arrives here!

Weight was up from 209.2 to 210.0 this morning, and that was AFTER having a pretty decent BM yesterday! "Danger, Will Robinson!" Please join me in praying that I will be able to reel this in and get back on track at least by Monday to start the new week. I can't bear to think that this lapse might be the beginning of the end of my 33-weeks of progress!

Sounds like your small portion plan is great!

If they are hanging around my kitchen, I can’t not eat desserts and sweets, like the ones you described. They just make me hungry for more of them, and don’t provide any satiety to quell my appetite. Also, for me, having a sugary dessert every day would, in short order, make me less sensitive to insulin, and make me more insulin resistant.
