Debbie Cousins's Journal, 15 Feb 23

Pleasantly pleased to see a significant drop in weight this morning. Started with Monday's increased weigh-in of 210.4. Dropped to 208.4 yesterday, and down to 207.2 this morning. So far, I've been able to eat all my "regular" food with the exceptions of my butter beans last night. They tasted terrible! Even though I keep this terrible medicinal taste in my mouth, all of my other food tasted normal. When I saved 310 calories by dumping out my butter beans, I had 1/2 of an 1/8th slice of a 9" Pecan Pie instead (228 calories) and I finished the last 1/4 of my husband's Ramen Noodle soup (95 calories) which I actually shouldn't have eaten, because it tasted somewhat akin to cardboard.

Though I don't feel very bad physically, it's been difficult psychologically to stay on track. Usually, I would indulge in all kinds of junk and sweets if I'm sick, and I definitely would use the "excuse" to not do my walking. So far (PTL) I've been staying on track with my food. Monday 1,232 calories and Tuesday 1,265. My goal is to have an Average Daily Calories of under 1,400, so I'm off to a great start. I did all my walking yesterday, and I've started it for today. I'm thankful that I have all of my "regular" strength for the walking.

OK, I slept in a bit this morning, so I've only walked 1/2 mile so far. Getting back to it. Wish me luck for continuing on this good path!

PS, my twin friends are bringing my husband a Dairy Queen Chocolate shake when they open this morning, because he thinks it would feel good on his throat. I love DQ Blizzards, but I told them not to bring me anything. I've lost over 51 pounds now! Staying the course.

keep on keeping on! Hopefully you're over the hump with the worst of the covid symptoms and it will just get better from this point forward. You're doing great!
