Debbie Cousins's Journal, 20 Feb 23

Good morning Fat Secretland! I think today is going to be a "normal" day. I tested negative two days ago, so I'm going to put on a mask and go to the grocery store today; I'm going to drive through the pharmacy to pick up a prescription; I've already got the hardest part of the Chinese Casserole prepared for lunch. A normal day, PTL.

Ended up losing 5.6 pounds this week, and set a new record for lowest Average Daily Calories. Previous record was 1,423. This past week, I averaged 1,421! Hooray! I love competing against myself! Total lost in 34 weeks is 53.6 pounds. That's an average of over a pound and a half a week. I'm very pleased with that.

While my husband didn't have any appetite last week, my appetite (and desire to eat) were normal. The weight wasn't lost due to not wanting to eat. I still had all the temptations that normally face me, but I had planned low-calorie lunches for the week, and when my butter beans didn't taste right to me, I subbed with something of comparable calories. I struggled with wanting sweets, and indulged in more than I should have, but it all worked out in the end.

This week, I'm going to have a higher calorie week, hopefully without going hog wild and pig crazy like I did week before last (when I averaged 1,999 calories a day!!!) I'm going to shoot for 1,500-1,600 calories per day. Lunch menu for the week is Chinese Casserole Monday-Thursday, leftover frozen homemade lasagna on Friday and Saturday, and Outback salad & 1/2 Victoria's filet Mignon on Sunday. I'll have the other half of steak with an egg next Monday, and I'll eat the baked potato for lunch that day.

I'm thankful that I didn't really suffer with Covid, as so many people do! Besides a couple days of sneezing, coughing and hacking up stuff, and one day where it was really hard to get my walking in, I really fared very well, PTL! Still don't know where we got it from - guess we never will. Unfortunately, we did give it to my daughter and her family because two days before we started showing symptoms, my grandson spent the night and half a day here. He sleeps with me when he stays over, and I love on him a bunch. At 7, he still likes to climb up on my lap (which is a little easier to find, now that there's not quite as much stomach laying on it).

Once again, I'm behind on reading all my notifications. Hope I didn't miss anything earth-shattering in any of your lives. Have a great week! Debbie

So glad you're feeling better and weren't very ill. Great job on the weight drop, and your healthy way of eating.
