Debbie Cousins's Journal, 22 Feb 23

Made the mistake (DUH!) of buying half a Ukrop's Chocolate Bar Cake "for my husband." Seemed like a good plan at the time. Half a cake is 7 slices at 300 calories per slice. Looks like I'll be eating a total of three of those slices.

Doing well on most fronts. Been walking regularly for 119 days. It's been 51 days since I upped my walking to 2-1/2 miles a day. For the most part, my knee has been feeling much better lately. I've only had to use the Voltaren once or twice in the past couple of months, and I haven't had to take any pain pills, PTL! I guess the "stupid doctor" who told me the pain was caused by my "morbid obesity" was right. I still have a lot of trouble with stairs, but maybe that will improve as I continue to lose weight. Over 50 pounds less weight on my knees, PTL!

I'm very excited about a new movie coming out - "The Jesus Revolution!" I LIVED during that time, and visited the church it is about (Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, CA), which was about an hour from where I lived. I was so stoked that they had "regular" music (mild rock), but with Christian lyrics. I'm taking my daughter to see it with me next Monday. She is very skeptical, but she remembers a purse and matching Bible cover that I bought at their gift shop (Maranatha Village), and it piqued her interest in seeing what my life was like when I was a "cool California girl." Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in "The Chosen" plays the hippie, and Kelsey Grammer plays Pastor Chuck Smith.

Actually went out and raked the leaves out of my Hosta bed this morning, and then raked leaves between the house and the stairway leading to the basement. That's a big accomplishment for me. I've also been "working on" my new car. Yesterday, I used ArmorAll wipes on the front interior. I'll do the back today. I spent about an hour yesterday watching videos on how to fix the flashing Compass Calibration display. There were three different "fixes" shown. Two of them didn't work, and the third I couldn't do, because the piece isn't where they said it would be on our car. UGH. Last week, I washed the inside of the windows. The car isn't dirty at all, I'm just trying to take really good care of it.

OK, gotta get up the last of the leaves before lunch!

Have a good day!

Debbie, try YouTube on how to fix the Calibration; they're often more up to date and easier to understand than the handbook.

Glad you are getting better with the Covid and hope your husband is getting better also. If your granddaughter got it, it must have been a light case. So happy for you about the "new" car. By the way, thank you for the church bulletin and the prayers. It meant the world to me.

@Snowwhite100, you’re very welcome! It’s about time for you to post in your Journal, isn’t it? Or did I miss something when I was slacking last week?

I was saved by Greg Laurie in 1974 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. I was baptized in the ocean at Newport Beach. I'm looking forward to movie as well💜🙏

Diana, I went to one of the ocean baptismal services. We had communion with bread you tore a chunk off of and goblets we passed around for everyone to drink “wine” out of. Quite a moving experience! So glad you had that experience, and that you got saved through that ministry.
