Debbie Cousins's Journal, 10 Mar 23

Haven't had my butter beans for dinner for a couple of nights, so not reaching my Fiber goals. Weight up this morning. Been hovering between 205 and 208 for almost a month now! WHY is it so hard for me to just suck it up and cross over into ONEderland? This always happens to me when I get to this threshold.

I've had really bad allergies for about two weeks. Finally went to the doctor yesterday and have some prescriptions to pick up today - one for allergies and a capsule for my cough. The new allergy med is the generic for Singulair (sp?) Anybody have experience with that one? I've just been taking Loratidine and Fluticasone for years. Now, I'll be taking all three. The mornings are the worst. I cough up lovely green gunk for about 3-4 hours after I wake up, and every time after I eat during the day. TMI - moving on.

Up at 12:25am again this morning. UGH. The biggest problem with getting up so early is that I eat breakfast when I get up and then want another breakfast about 5 hours later. Been eating too many sweets lately. About a month ago, I was just having one "break" off a KitKat bar and fruit for my Snacks. Now I'm up to 2-3 pieces of the KitKat (104-156 calories), a Keebler Fudgy Chocolate Chip Cookie (80 calories) and (thank God they're gone now) 4 Peppermint White Chocolate Pretzel Crisps (130 calories), plus blueberries and honeydew.

Mammogram seemed to go fine yesterday. A couple years ago, they had to come back in and take some more x-rays and then did an ultrasound of my breast - but it all ended up being ok. This time, no repeat procedures, PTL.

I'm still struggling to keep Diet Coke down to "just" three cans a day. I am drinking plenty of water along with it, though (4 to 8 16.9oz bottles a day_)

My knee started hurting VERY badly last night. It is still hurting this morning, to the point where I'm having a hard time walking without a limp. I think I'm going to rub on some Voltaren and take a pain pill and go back to bed, hoping that it will be better when I get back up. Walking three miles with it feeling like this would be very hard - the worst day I've had yet - but I would push through to get it done. I'm just praying it feels better. Pain is no fun!

OK, been up for almost an hour (1:12am). I hope to read some of y'all's posts when I get back up. I've been very negligent of that lately.

Debbie you can cross that threshold, stict with it. What I've found id that the more I eat sweets, the more I crave them.

Don't know why it is so hard, but have found for myself that if I am dealing with something stressful, I decide I deserve to treat myself by eating what I want.
