Debbie Cousins's Journal, 13 Mar 23

Weight finally budged this morning, after being between 205-208 for a full month! I know I haven't been keeping my calories as low as I'd like (eating too many sweets), but I've definitely been more active, have been up more waking hours, and being faithful in Journaling, Logging, Weighing, etc.

Not sure what's happening with my sleep schedule! About two weeks ago, it's like a light switch got flipped! I went from sleeping from 5pm-5am (12 hours every night) to only sleeping from 5pm until 11:30pm-2:30am. This morning when I woke up from midnight until 1am, I took a pain pill to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Got to sleep until 4am! I did it because I will have to be up very late (for me tonight). I have a guy coming to look at a huge desk/hutch I'm selling on Facebook Marketplace. He's not coming until 6pm, and if he decides to get it, it will probably take at least 2 hours to disassemble and move out.

I’ve read that those middle of the night wake ups could be certain organs Processing things. I think 1-3AM was liver. Throw so extra support it’s way or adding a Magnesium supplement could help!

I started taking Magnesium at night a couple months ago. Woke up at 12:30am this morning. I got up and ate a slice of Dave's Killer Bread with butter and went back to bed from 1:30-4am.

Magnesium is a great muscle relaxer. I have been eating keto for just over two years. I miss my favorite Lay's Stax Salt and Vinegar chips, but generally don't feel deprived. My down fall is eating between meals. Back on the wagon now, alternating between egg fasting and carnivore, and have lost 8 lbs in just under 2 weeks. This is with eating low carb ice cream or low carb crustless cheesecake every night, so you can have your sweet, as long as they are eaten with a meal and low carb.

So I'm not the only one on a quirky schedule! My normal wake time is 4 a.m., and it's really hard to stay awake past 7. Makes evening events a bit of a challenge 😂 Glad you're seeing progress again. Maybe you and I can make a pact to reel in the sweets together -- those are my downfall, too. 😉 I'm going back to tracking for a bit to snap me out of my denial

What I've found is that when I eat processed sugar, I crave more. When I stop eating it, the craving goes away.
