Debbie Cousins's Journal, 14 May 23

Yikes. weight dangerously close to that 200 mark this morning at 199.6! Only had 1,584 calories yesterday. Did not have a bowel movement, though.

I was on my feet ALL day yesterday, not taking any "breaks" except to shove down a sandwich. Knee was hurting at a level 5. At 4am (got up at 3), I took 600mg Ibuprofen - no help at all. at 6am, I took an Excedrin Migraine (Aspirin and Acetaminophen) - no relief. Finally, at 10am I took a Tramadol, and my pain level went down to a 1-2 for about five hours, which got me through the most laborious of the cooking. Had to take another one at 3pm, which got me through the evening.

I went to bed at 5:30pm and slept until 7pm then got up and did all the cooking and baking dishes I had accumulated (after already doing them twice during the cooking process). I also cut the Caramel Cake, the 4-Layer Chocolate Dessert and the Pineapple-Cheese Casserole. Went back to bed at 8:30 and slept until 11 then got up and "foot-mopped" the kitchen floor - putting a Lysol Wipe on the floor and using my foot to scrape it back and forth on the floor until it is dirty and then repeating the process. I had just done this for a birthday party on May 1st, but the floor was already incredibly dirty again. I also put away the clean dishes and made the Sweet Tea, and then went back to bed a little before midnight. Got up "for the day" at 1:30am. Total sleep for the night: 5-1/2 hours. Not nearly enough, but there is still so much to do!

So far (3am), I've had my breakfast, checked the Challenge Forum, updated a recipe in my FS cookbook, checked my "groups" on FS, followed the new Challenge participants, done yesterday's Through-the-Bible reading, and am working on today's, put Voltaren on my knee, and laid out my grandson's clothes for church.

Have to take out the ham at 4am to get to room temperature to start cooking at 5am in order for it to be done cooking and "resting" for my husband to carve it before he has to go to Sunday School this morning. Before I go to church at 10am, I have to cook the Broccoli Casserole and Green Bean Casserole, wash my hair, glaze the ham, --ugh, lots more, but I don't have time to type it. I need to get to DOING it! Church will be over at 11:30 and I have lunch scheduled for 12, which will mean I'll have a mad dash home (I live on the church property) to put all the casseroles back into the oven to reheat, heat up the Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets for the kids and heat the dinner rolls.

I hope my mother-in-law, my daughter, and my daughter-in-law enjoy their Mother's Day. This year I took on too much. The only things on the menu that I'm not making are the Caramel Cake which my MIL made, and a Pasta Salad which my daughter is making.

K, back to today's Bible reading!

Happy Mother's Day Debbie! I hope your family cleans up after lunch, because you should be able to sit down with that knee elevated.

My goodness Debbie, you are quite the busy lady! That lack of BM can make a huge difference, I know as I am the queen of constipation. Taking stuff to help you go will work wonders, I have to do it quite often. Have a great Mother’s Day celebrating with your family!
