Met my new goals again yesterday. (1) Drink 8 cups of water (check!); (2) get in 25-30g Fiber (check! 34.3 grams): (3) get in 100 grams of Protein (check! 104.11); (4) record everything I eat (always!); (5) try to keep calories under 2,000/day - preferably in 1,800’s (check! 1,733); (6) walk 5 miles (check!)

Weight up a tad today (after no BM yesterday or this morning), but not concerned. I think it’s just digestive contents.

Off to a slow start this morning, even though I got up at 2:30am. My daughter texted me for about an hour, which slowed me down. Getting ready to walk third mile.

Wow! Great Debbie! Where you getting the fibre and the protein? do you take them in a powder form in a shake or smoothie? Is Premier the brand name? I'm looking for more fibre especially

PattiOB, I’d rather be getting the Protein from Filet Mignon, but right now it’s mostly from premier Protein Chocolate Shakes and Quest Protein Bars. I was delighted that my homemade Lasagna was 30g of Protein! The shakes only have 3g Fiber but THIRTY grams of Protein; but the bars have 12-15g Fiber and 20-21g Protein, depending on the flavor. I also eat a bowl of butter beans almost every night, which is high in both. Two eggs have over 12g Protein, but I try to limit them to 2 times a week, because of the Cholesterol. Hope that helps!

Debbie dont forget that you can have just the egg whites and not the whole egg with regard to eliminating the cholesterol concern and so good for you.

Yearofhealth2013, thanks for the suggestion. When I was a child, my Granny called the yellow of an egg “the Sunshine”. I’ve loved the yolk ever since! As I expected, all of the cholesterol comes from the yolk, but I was surprised to see that more than half of the Protein comes from the white of the egg! Instead of making a 2-egg Omelet, maybe I’ll use three eggs (one whole one and two whites). Thanks for the suggestion.

You are super welcome Debbie. Ive been following you for months now and so impressed with your dedication and your kind spirit. Im also struggling to try and get extra protein in as i have to keep my calories low due to some ailments that have really messed up my metabolism. It’s a balancing act and im so happy to see you doing it. You and i are having surgery within a few days of each other. Will be checking on your recovery for sure. God bless!

Yearofhealth2023, the Premiere Protein Shakes are only 160 calories and have THIRTY grams of Protein! So far I’ve only tried the Chocolate, but 2m0 I’ll receive an 8-pack of assorted flavors from Amazon. Price for 15 Chocolate was $24.99 at BJ’s. The 8-pack on Amazon was $29.99, but it’s cheaper than buying all 4-packs for a flavor I might not like. I’m especially looking forward to trying the Strawberries & Cream and the Peaches and Cream! Amazon has 12-packs of each individual flavor for $24.99. That’s still over $2 each; but, I consider it to be an investment in my health!

Exactly!!! Diana1234 turned me on to the body fortress. I was doing premiere prior to that but for an extra 10 grams of protein vs 20 calories it seemed like a good idea to me for this protein push. You are doing great!!!!!! And exactly right. Also, IVE been making. Banana choc chip protein muffins about 150 calories and i think around 9 or 10 protein (have to look). . .
