Debbie Cousins's Journal, 16 Jul 23

Yesterday’s stats: walked 5 miles; did 1-1/2 hours of PT exercises; drank 8 cups of water; Calories 1,932; Fiber 26.5 grams; Protein 81.35g; drank 7 cans of Diet Coke.

Weight down to 187.6 this morning, with only 1 tiny bowel movement in the past 7 days. Took 2 more Dulcolax pills 12 hours ago. Still nothing moving today. I just ate breakfast. If no BM within an hour, I will use another suppository. If that doesn’t work, I don’t know WHAT to do!

I just removed all the Glycopyrrolate from my 7-day meds container. Going to sweat it out (quite literally) without it for a week to give my bowels a chance to return to “normal.” Do NOT want to go into surgery constipated, since I’ll have to be on pain pills for several days, and they cause constipation.

Thanks for listening and for caring about the mundane details of my life!

Daughter gets moved the rest of the way in today. Life holds a lot of upcoming challenges.

Debbie I have a medicine that causes me to get blocked up and not have bm for days on in I remember once I went 30days with no bm and I used the suppositories from dulcolax and finally went but I was telling my doctor I needed something to help me because I have a problem with have no bm daily and she prescribed me Linzess and I promise you it will make you go and you need to be close to the bathroom after you take it. You take it 30min before you eat in the morning is the best or you may be on the toilet half of the night. and it will clean your bowel out until you have nothing left to go out.

also here lately because I only take those Linzess when I really get constipated bad instead of daily like it is supposed to be because it will make me go about 8times during the day and I been taking magnesium citrate pills and they are help me with not having constipation as bad as before you may try them they are not very expensive.

LoL sorry if it's too much info but I always tell my hubby when I take those Linzess to never trust a fart Because you will not like the outcome and even when I get diarrhea and he laughs 😂😂 so hard but I don't ever trust a fart. Hopefully that makes you laugh this morning. Happy Sunday morning 🌞🌞 gonna be a hot day today...

Dr. Mandel suggests 1tbs EVOO to help w constipation. I incorporate unrefined cold pressed coconut oil daily and make chia seed puddings to help keep me regular. Gotta lube up those tubes! Lol Sounds like you need more fat. Prayers for your surgery!!!

Fiber is a form of carbohydrate found in plants. There are two main types of fiber. Soluble fiber dissolves in water and helps slow down digestion and as well as control cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and adds bulk to the stool, helping to keep bowel movements regular. Which type of fiber do you focus on ? Protein bars have soluble fiber do if you are recently eating more of those that could add to the problem. Hope you figure out how to get it moving!!

sarahchrisriley, the Linzess sounds like a good last-ditch option. I’ll have to ask my doctor about that. Thank you. StormsGirl, I took Castor Oil to try to bring on labor with my second child. I’m afraid the EVOO might be just as hard to swallow, but thanks for the suggestion. honeebuns, thanks. I hadn’t considered the two types of Fiber, but the protein bars only list it as “Dietary Fiber.” Online said most bars are soluble, though, as you said. I HAVE been relying on them for the lion’s share of my Fiber intake. Gotta start paying more attention to that.
