Forgot to weigh AGAIN! Weighed after eating breakfast, getting dressed and drinking 12-oz Diet Coke - 191.2. Not as bad as I was expecting. Leg still swollen and painful. I’ve been very bored and tired. Have both grandkids for 8-9 hours today, tomorrow and Saturday, while my daughter works. She had her first Residence Inspection on Tuesday, and got an “A”. They were supposed to be once a month until my grandson permanently messed up the linoleum three days after moving in. Now they’re once a week! I’ve been doing pretty well on my eating. Getting in the 100g Protein every day and 25+g of Fiber. Haven’t been doing well on water. Had some bad bruises pop up yesterday, but they aren’t as bad today. PT coming at 9am. Didn’t like the therapist I had on Tuesday, so requested someone else for today. Nurse also supposed to come but haven’t heard from anyone as to time. Just limping along. The most I’ve walked in a day so far has been 0.4 miles. Today I’m going to definitely aim for 0.5, and maybe even try to push to 1 mile. Can only do 2/10th mile at a time before playing out.
84.5 kg Lost so far: 32.9 kg.    Still to go: 16.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Also started cutting back on pain meds. Haven’t had any since yesterday afternoon. Just took a Tylenol in preparation for PT. Nurse just called. Coming at 11am. Today the dressing comes off. Concerned about bacteria, but surgeon’s nurse said it doesn’t need and bandaging if it’s healing well.

I'm amazed you can go that far. It seems a lot that you're taking care of kids so soon after surgery! We're rootin' for your healing and progress!

Glad to hear things are going well! Trust the recovery process and you'll be dancing in no time!

What does the doctor say about walking that far? I know you are anxious to get going, but I have no idea what's good for the knee. You are a tough cookie. I sure have to hand it to you.

erikahollister, yes it is a lot to be watching the kids so soon. I’d rather just be resting, but we do what we’ve gotta do. mbd121 no dancing for me - two left feet! Doctor said walking is good, snowwhite100, but to not overdo it. So far, my walking has only been 0.1 miles, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.3 and then 0.6 (so far) today. I’m taking it slowly and stopping when I get tired or winded. Their instructions were just, “short walks, several times a day,” and that’s the way I’m doing it.

You are doing great!

Walking is good just a little bit farther each day, don't overdo, that could set you back. Caring for children not so good but perhaps take the opportunity to teach them how to help you, they're old enough to do little things.

Great job keeping up on eating! Keep going on the knee. You'll get there.

lol try moving the scale to in the middle of the bathroom floor or bedroom, if you have hard floor in bedroom.
