Wow! Debbie, you met your goal. Congratulations! What's next?

Thank you for noticing, Diddly15! Though I'm really looking forward to just getting into the 170's (179.8 - my digital scale only measures in 2/10 pound increments), I just reset my official goal to 171, which will be the lowest I've been in the six years I've been on FatSecret (previous low was 171.2 in April of 2018). When I get down to 171, it will also be the lowest I have been since 1984. (My highest was 302 in 2006!)

That's a nice new goal for yourself. My son and I are also setting new goals for ourselves. I need to tone up by adding some muscle mass and he needs to slim down. We joined a gym together and we're getting a personal trainer and dietitian to set us in the right direction. Alex has learning disabilities so he needs lots of supervision to help him meet his goals. He is on FS also, and he finds it easy to participate. it's encouraging to be part of this community. By the way, I am the lowest weight since 1981, when I got married. I should have kept my wedding suit. it would be a nice retro look and fun to wear at our upcoming family re-union.

Wow, Diddly15! I just read your Profile, and you’ve certainly got a lot on your plate! We, too, have an adult child (38) and two grandchildren (13 and 7) living with us, and we often have to help our son (35) financially. It’s a real drain on our finances (and, like yesterday, on our nerves)! Best wishes on your new goals for you and your son! May you do GREAT with the personal trainer and dietician!

Thanks for your wishes, Debbie! It means a lot to us. Every parent has a hard job with every child, but I think it's just a little bit harder when the children have special needs, but maybe also a little bit more rewarding. Stay strong!
