Debbie Cousins's Journal, 24 Oct 23

Well, today is Doctor 6-month checkup. Was hoping and working to be in the 170’s this morning, but I am 180.8. I only started really pushing for this the past two full weeks - maybe I should have started sooner!

I was just the tiniest bit rebellious yesterday by drinking 8 cans of Diet Coke and eating almost 1,800 calories. Still got in 32 grams of Fiber and 106.5 grams of Protein. Only drank 3 bottles of water, but I walked 6 miles and had a very strenuous PT appointment.

I’m still feeling pretty discouraged this morning.
82.0 kg Lost so far: 35.5 kg.    Still to go: 14.0 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Well you know what to do. You cut your calories back to around 1400 for several days and had movement on the scale. I think you make a little progress and then you self sabotage. I have done this to myself many times over the years. You said it yourself. You only had 3 waters and your calories were at 1800. 1800 is maintenance for most women….you can do it. It’s just how much do you want it. I remind myself that a few minutes of enjoyment eating something that will show up on the scale is not worth the extreme amount of work it takes to get it off. Best wishes for better decisions going forward my friend.

The doctor was pleased that I have lost 50 pounds since my last annual exam I’m WAY behind on my walking and PT (only walked 3 miles so far and haven’t done any PT!) might skip the PT, but I’m going to TRY to get in my 6 miles. Going to the doctor for 2 hours this morning and for 1 hour this afternoon (hematologist) was been my downfall. I’m used to having the whole day to get things done.

That must have felt really good getting recognition from the doctor. You are so, so close. As you keep at it, it will happen.
