My weight has gone up by 400g over last 2 days after a good weight loss run. I am not too worried since I have upped my water intake to over 4l per day since Monday. I am trying to eat clean I have added a lot of fruit in the diet and it seems that my carbs are high.

However the last 2 days even though I have gained weight my body has been in Ketosis. I know this because I have started testing the level of ketones on a somewhat daily basis to make sure that my body is utilising stored fat for energy.

My efforts might sound a bit extreme but I find weighing myself everyday good because it allows me to rectify issues before they are a problem. My main aim is to change my lifestyle and instill good lifetime habits where I do not have to record everything I eat, as my brain is learning now and will keep that discipline, knowledge and portion control.

I have set myself a 12 month target to reach my goals which is achievable and after that concentrate on enjoying life to the max.I have also invested in PT sessions everyday and I have already done 1.5 weeks of that. My goal with PT sessions is to ensure that exercises I do are proper form. Also PT make me do all the exercises I do not want to do like work out legs or go on the rowing machine.

Hi Eightpac, Watch your fruit intake as it is rather high in carbs. Don't want to knock yourself out of ketosis. Good Luck

huh, a lot of fruit? Ketosis? Oxymoron. Recording what you eat? Why? Obsessing over food isn't a good thing.

Hi Guys, thanks for your comments. To address number 1. jtidsy you are correct, too much fruit however I have been in ketosis every morning since Monday. I have ketosticks I use to test. I am not having any other carbs so the main thing I want to avoid is constipation or lack of nutrients. I will review this in the next day or two and try to get some low cal wholegrains in. 2. biggergus thanks for your post. I mainly use fruit to aid in body absorbing protein and the fact that I am still in ketosis after that much fruit is interesting. Maybe carbs in bananas, apples, mandarins are used up by body more efficiently but I do not know. I do not want to obsess over food but my recording is purely trying to set some good habits as well as allow my pt or anyone to see what I am eating. Also it is to help out those that maybe in the same situation as me and trying to lose weight and get healthier to learn from my mistakes or success.
