The beginning of the week had me weigh 84.7...yesterday it dropped then today a loss. The thing I found interesting was the huge variance being water weight and just being woman. Salt and vinegar chips last Saturday at the movies must of created lots of salt making water weight. I knew it so didnt worry to much. A small fat loss but its all good. I start a pt soon for strength training so I have no doubt that will also impact on figures.

I hope everbody is happy 😊😊😊

Hi Jane, I've noticed a lot of people talking about water weight and I'm wondering how you know when you've lost fat and when its just water?

I only knew because Im not a huge salt user. I also previously had read comments about salt in the past. So gaining so quickly and eating a very high salt product had made me feel bloated and weigh heavier. There was no way the weight gain early in the week was fat...like a 1.7 increase in 48hrs just wasnt logical. Plus all the xtra trips to the loo on Tuesday, that was my body letting go of the fluid.. My scales do fat % but I really dont use it. I guess its all the experience Im getting on this journey that kept me calm and pretty sure what was happening . 😊😊😊😊

Yeah that happened to me, I had like a 1.5 kilo gain the morning after a really salty meal (that's how you know by the way, Lilu, if it's an unreasonably high gain or loss for either how many calories or the time between weigh-ins, then it's water).

I see. Interesting now I understand why everyone is weighing themselves daily. I was going to wait a month before weighing myself but after reading this I thought maybe I should do the same. Aaah salt & vinegar chips, they're hard to say no to. >.< GL with the PT and strength training! Thanks Saskia. =)

You obviously know your body really well Jane. They say that we loose the fat and then water fills the fat cells, waiting for more fat, then finally when no fat comes back the water gives way for the cell to collapse.
