I'm actually a bit surprised the scale went down a bit. I went out for dinner and had some carbs, freakin' bread plate!
I also think intermittent eating helped a lot. I heard this term on a podcast & to me it has more of a positive tone to it vs intermittent fasting. Mind tricks!!
Anyway in the moment I felt like I was overeating & going crazy... but reflecting on it this morning I really didn't eat much.
I am going to intermittent eat today as well...bachelorette party tonight 😳😳🙏🏼😂

Right? Fasting sounds so punitive to me. Took me a bit to understand IF just meant eating between certain hours. Nice going!

It's so interesting how replacing a word can change an outlook. It was on Leanne Vogel's Helpful Pursuit podcast. I wish I could remember what episode.

Hey! 😊 I'm in the midst of learning about something called "autophagy" & apparently it only occurs in a fasted state. Its amazing and is not triggered when a person eats small meals frequently. Its a process where the body clears out dead junk out of cells and then rebuilds. I'm just scratching the surface but it's a really big deal tied to longevity and avoiding diseases. The benefits of combining ketosis and using one 4-8 hour eating window are staggering.

BC, that's fascinating. I felt so much better when I was doing 18:6. Carbs were higher, but from things like small amounts of quinoa and sweet potato and pure whole rye bread. Interesting to hear about IF combined with keto.

BC I think fasting definitely resets the body. I have fasted many Ramadans and even though it's extremely hard, I feel like it definitely resets the body & mind in so many ways. I haven't done a Ramadan fast in a few years & I mostly do it to support extended family & I like the challenge 😜

Its interesting you bring up that spiritual dimension of it because it's definitely doing something clarifying to my mind and spirit. It gives (hard to describe) this clarifying, distilling quality to my awareness if that makes sense. IF on Keto (for me) isn't difficult, its a natural feeling but I haven't done 24 hours. Deep ketosis seems to just provide about 16 hours of satiety. If I feel tummy grumbles, simply drinking water makes them go away. As a person who used to have perpetual "munchies" I find it the whole experience fascinating.
