Another birthday celebration on Friday night and I ate well including dessert. No regrets. Dropped 600g overnight which would have been the sugar calories. Also ate lunch out after physio on Thursday but chose well. It helps that a lot of places have the calories written on their menus now too. As I said before, I check online before I go out and have 3 selections in mind. I went to the coffee club and had a toasted flat bread with salad. Chicken pesto with avocado I think. Anyway I'd planned I could have 600 calories. No effect on weight on Thursday. However Friday was another story. Surprise in the arvo that I was being taken out for dinner. So I hadn't built the calories in to the day. No menu online. No calories on menu. I chose chicken Oscar with veges, not chips and salad. I used to ask for veges and chips. Naughty naughty. Anyway dessert, or "desert" as the menu said. lol. White chocolate and raspberry baked cheesecake with ice cream and cream. It was perfect. Enjoyed every mouthful. But not something I would have regularly, or keep in the fridge. Too tempting. However, for a special occasion, as this was, it was awesome. My weight was 65.4 Friday morning. Saturday up to 66.1, then back down to 65.5 today. Good healthy eating yesterday and about 1200 calories. I'll do the same today and Monday. Keeping the fibre up at 25 to 30 grams per day to help my body process everything. Keeping protein up too. Was a bit hungry mid arvo yesterday, probably from sugar previous night, so had a handful of peanuts. Good protein, maybe too much salt and fat, but I did drink heaps of water too.

Anyway, as I've said before, I have lost my weight, so on maintenance now. This was not a diet, but a different way of eating. So technically I am still following my original eating plan. Eating for life now. Not just because. . . . . I will celebrate with family and friends or even by myself by eating occasional foods, or treats. However, I know know the consequences of poor diet, and understand the effects different foods, or food combinations have on my body and weight.

If you're just starting your journey, can I boldly suggest that you don't just do what I do or anyone else for that matter. What worked for me, may not work for you. Your body is different to mine. Find out what works for you. Try different foods and combinations and note their effect on your body. This takes time. Not just trying a food once. I would trial foods over a period of time. Having them, then not having them.

Finally, have you ever seen a 90 year old on a diet? Live! Diets don't work. We know that. They cannot be sustained. However life changes take 3 weeks to become a habit. Change your habits instead.

Onwards and downwards. ❤

Thankyou for the post! It was great! I agree - don't eat what someone else ate and they lost weight! You're different. You need to find what works for you :)
