When it comes to logging your food, what’s the one thing FatSecret could do to make that easier?

Make it possible to import recipes

Just from other sites, or from anywhere?

From anywhere. I do not know if you are familiar with MyFitnessPal but on there you can just link to a page with the recipe and it will import it into your food diary.

I would LOVE a way to just add calories so that I didn't have to either create a recipe or a new "food". I often know the calorie count of something, which would be simple to just key in.

It seems like half the time I look up a food that I've previously logged and put in all the nutritional info for, and it just doesn't come up? You need broader search parameters so that doesn't happen

Standard meals for breakfast lunch and dinner that you save as what you call them. So you just hit the meal and all the ingredients feed through.

Julia you can already do that. After you recorded all your food for breakfast, for instance, just go to to saved meals (app on the top green border,,, click new saved meal... then select all your breakfast foods and save it for another time

@linda_in_mex How do you know the calories of the food you have eaten? Are you only focussed on calories or do other aspects of nutrition play a part as well?

@Hayley 💯 I’m terrible at guestimating volumes/weights for fruit & veg in particular.

increase the usefulness of the "recently eaten" feature. make the lists longer and include all the foods that I recently ate in all of the meal periods. ie. If I make something new, I might eat leftovers for the next 3 meals and don't want to add it 3 times.

FatSecret should make every basic food available in both farms and cups. And have a generic measure which you could use, say meat or root vegetable, if you can’t find what you want, but need an estimate.

if I log something specific at lunch it shows up in my recently eaten for lunch, but not dinner. there are ways around that, but it would just be easier.

Top shelf suggestions everyone. Recently Eaten & inconsistent serving measures catch me out on a regular basis too.

I wish the foods had more up to date information and more selections to choose from without adding in things myself. Like if restaurants could upload their items nutritional information. But that’s just me.

@peeperj Can you provide an example of foods that are lacking current info (and what was wrong)?

Bump (add your thoughts people)

Also, I lost my data twice. I think it’s to do with linking to FatSecret app to other app. Somehow the linked apps take control of the data, so if you delete to other apps, they delete your data.

When I scan a barcode it will bring up a different food or the information is not the same as the package in my hand. Sometimes it’s just one thing different like the protein amount. Sometimes it’s a different serving size or even all macros not like the package states. As to restaurants it would be nice if I could look it up by name and it give me sections like a menu. Then I could click entrees or desserts and it would have a list of everything they make. That would be a sit impossible however unless each restaurant would be willing to upload their menu and information.

Good idea, peeper- about the restaurants. And I haven't used the bar code thing but I have heard a few times that it is pretty inaccurate.
