I haven't weighed for a while. It seems that no matter what I did last week I could not get below 210. I am about to head out to CA for vacation tomorrow and just not feeling excited about it. My husband seems to have a sinus infection-though he went for a COVID test just to be safe. Also, his friend backed into his car over the weekend and messed up the front end. So we have to drop his car off at the body shop and deal with the rental car place before we can get on the road for our vacation. We are taking some of our own food but there will still be at least one meal out per day so I know I will be putting on some weight while we are away. I wish I was feeling more excited about finally getting to go somewhere after so long but I am stressed and anxious about this "relaxing" time. :-)

So very unfortunate to have a whirlwind start to your vacation. You will have a wonderful time. Let the food accentuate your adventure. Try restaurants or culture food you don't have at home and choose appetizers to share. That is my favorite way to eat and you get a sample of everything without feeling heavy. Or try sharing your meal. Enjoy!

Sometimes getting out the door is such a battle, especially with the unexpected problems! Another trick when eating out (an old concept of how to lose a few pounds) is eat only half of what's on the plate. Many of us have prohibitions about wasting food BUT what you eat becomes waste as well. Have a great time!

We always take at least 2weeks when we go away on vacation. 1 week to decompress 2nd week to actually be relaxed enough to enjoy it 😂

Hopefully once you are there, you will relax and settle in but I do know how you are feeling. I often can't relax until we reach our destination. Have fun!

I hope you have a relaxing time. When we eat out we split a meal since they seem to be way too much for 1…..or appetizers for dinner.

You'll have a wonderful time. California has tons of options for delicious and healthy food at restaurants. Who do you think invented the high maintenance dining experience with everything on the side? It was us!

With Covid around, it's natural to feel anxious. I'm sure you'll have adventures in nature and meals on patios. It should be wonderful.

Thanks for all the support everybody. There was some stress nibbling in the car. It’s been so long since we had a road trip I guess we forgot how “hungry” we get in the car. An odd phenomenon. The traffic was pretty good but we stopped multiple times so didn’t arrive until 8 pm. The sea air is wonderful and temps in the mid 60’s are an added bonus. The hotel room is spacious and comfortable. There is a nice Thai restaurant next door so we were able to grab a late dinner. Have a good weekend everybody.
