I didn’t author this just loved he message

Imagine being 75 and you’re sat thinking about your life and how you never went swimming in the sea on a warm night because your thighs jiggled. Imagine realizing you never laughed until you couldn’t breathe because your teeth weren’t straight or white enough. You never embraced the sun on the beach because of the stretch marks on your stomach and your hips. You never allowed yourself to let go and have fun because the pressure to look perfect consumed you.

Imagine being 75 and realizing you’ve hidden yourself away for the fear of being real. Imagine realizing all the years you wasted hating yourself, but now it’s too late to go swim in the sea late at night. Now it hurts to laugh for more than a few seconds and you’re too weak to travel to the beach. Imagine realizing all this time you were perfect the way you were, but now it’s too late to do anything about it.

Don’t let that happen. Live now, as you are. You deserve to realize you’re enough and always have been, before you’re 75.

amen, I hope to live well past 75, but I'm wearing my bikinis now and doing what I want most of the time. I encourage everyone else to try it because honestly, no one is thinking about how you look as much as "you" are. the exception is IG, which is its own cesspool of warped thinking.

So good, Kenna. I'm nearly 50 and have those regrets already. A nearly perfect (to my eyes now) 20s body was never confident enough to wear that bikini to the beach. In my later 20s and on, I stayed out of the pool instead of sharing the time with my kids. I wasn't huge... I was jiggly. I missed so many moments of joy worrying about what I looked like. I still do...

And truly, what is so special about a bikini! I have always worn board shorts and a rash shirt because I’m always in the water wether it’s a pool or the ocean. I’m into function. I’m not into sexy clothes— not my thing. I never had a lack of boyfriend issue and to this day I have a few male friends besides my BF that I still do things with and go places with.. it’s a personality thing that ultimately creates attraction. My one male friend I met at a play. We ended up sitting next to each other. He is a business man from back east who comes to my area every couple of months for 1-2 weeks so he finds plays or events to go to and I actually saw him at 3 plays before we decided to stay in touch. Now we meet every 2-3 months, have dinner, go to a play. He is 30 years younger than I am and we have lots in common. Just friends. Period.

I just like the feel of the water in a two piece. I don’t care what others think. Plus, I actually swim. Big difference between a fish and a pool lizard.

I love skinny dipping but at this point I have to watch my skin because I have had way too much sun in my lifetime so still wearing g my normal outfit. Plus, I got tumbled by a wave once many years ago when I was a kid and lost the bottom half of my bikini. That was the last time I ever wore one at the beach.

Katsolo- thanks to you, I can now put a name to my pool “in”-activity! I am a proud Pool(e) Lizard! I love to just float around in the cooling water adult beverage in hand. 😂 Yay me! Can’t wait to share my new moniker with all my fellow pool reptiles! Thanks for the laugh.

when it's cold (all things being relative) here in San Diego, I am not above laying straight on the deck in the sun to absorb heat to get warm. definite lizard behavior.

I’m going to add “pool lizard” to my already sarcastic vocabulary
