AAAAGH. Apparently I've about hit the limit of my current diet. Very annoying to have to switch it up when I'd gotten so comfortable (and gotten some good results too!).
New plan is record what I eat to ensure I'm sticking to my calorie limit precisely, and gym at least 4 nights per week. Hopefully that will shift these last two stubborn kilos!
54.3 kg Lost so far: 7.7 kg.    Still to go: 6.6 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

If you are counting calories, then you are wasting your time. Calorie counting fails, because it was never right in the first place. Where the calories COME FROM it what matters. If you want to count something that matters, and lose weight, and improve every measure that needs improving, count CARBS. Start out with 90-100g a day, try it for a week, and watch what happens. Calorie counting and exercising do not work. This site and the entire diet industry should tell you that.

There are so many problems with that statement. The carb hating. The "diet industry" paranoia. The fact that you felt the need to correct someone WITH CAPS for emphasis. I appreciate the attempt at assistance, but I already eat fewer than 80g of carbs per day, and I don't feel the need to go further down that road. Please don't comment again, it's frankly unhelpful and a bit patronising.

I can attest that calorie counting and exercising do work... I have lost 12 kilos since the end of september just by calorie counting and exercising, and while I did cut carbs down, it wasn't that much, and my focus is on the calories more than the type of food I eat. You're doing great!

Well, I have to say that counting calories and exercise has worked for me as well. It may not be the most technically accurate but gee, what an eye opener it was for me when I looked at what I was eating. I haven't even looked at the carbs. And besides, different things work for different people. Counting calories has at least given me something to work to. So, good luck at the gym. I have just bought myself a concept 2 rower and I love it - love the rhythm of rowing. Not quite ready for the Olympic team just yet though :-) 4 nights at the gym - bring it on :-)

Counting calories has worked for me too. It certainly makes me more accountable for what I am eating and I tends to eat so much better, lots of veges and fruits. Keep doing what you're doing, it does work.
