Woohoo, under 80 kg before my op. Yeah. Decided I will celebrate after the op now as it’s only days away.

Another spike during week but weight has continued dropping since, no plateaus. Overall lost 1.1 kg for the week.

Lost size around my chest finally. Waist and hips and right side decreased in size.

A huge week ahead with this op. So fully expect this to impact my weight as stress definitely affects my body and metabolism.

But today I celebrate what I call, gift of life day, the day I escaped my violent marriage some 18 years ago. Hence why I call this day “Gift of Life Day”.

Much to do again today. Cooking dampers today to go with my soups, and wrapping in portion sizes for the freezer. I find having meals and portion sizes already weighed and measured before I freeze is a huge help when monitoring what goes into my mouth. I use this FatSecret app to record my favourite recipes and adjust the recipe as I cook a new batch. Works well.

Mid week weigh in. A week to go till surgery. Will I be under the 80kg by then? How exciting. Double celebration.

Had the weight spike up Monday but down again today as kept the carbs and cals low yesterday. Had breakfast out Monday morning and although it wasn’t a “bad” breakfast it still had more fats and carbs than I usually have. So my cals went up to just over 1400 and that was just having a drink for lunch too.

Good knowing how your body processes foods so you have some control over your weight loss journey. Also means I’m not afraid to go out and have a good time. I’ll never be afraid of food. Just look at it differently now. Looking forward to that ice-cream when I get under 80kg. Please let me reach it before the op. 🙏😂 Missed out at the 83kg milestone.

Woohoo. Another 1.2 kg loss in total this week. Size lost all over but especially across the back.

Saw surgeon this week. He was very happy with the weight loss so far. My ligament has healed really well, plus the broken bone. But knee was popping in and out of the socket when he tested it. That’s what I’ve been experiencing on stairs and slopes too. So straight in for ACL reconstruction on 23rd. Less than 2 weeks but I am so happy. I’ll finally be able to walk down the driveway again. 11 months since accident but in that time I’ve managed to detox from lead poisoning, get my metabolism working, lose 10 kilos, heal the bone and ligaments, and strengthen the leg. So my recovery should be a lot easier than if I’d done this op earlier in the year straight after the accident in January.

Can’t wait to tell the anaethesist my weight has dropped again since I filled in his paperwork for the op. Go girl go! Just over 10 kilos to go.
