Six-and-a-half hours of solid sleep with dreams, two hours drowsing while listening to podcasts. The last of a week of 90+ temperatures. Going to be sticky again today. Morning plank. Eight minutes first thing in the morning on the Air Walk Trainer to burn off glycogen. I think putting the Fat Gripz on the trainer handles have strengthened my forearms. I've stepped up my calf stretches, doing them while watching the evening news and the late local news. It seems to have helped my plantar fasciitis. Today is a down day on the Alternate-Day Diet (4:3) and a day for the whole body conditioning dumbbell program. I've exceeded my calories on down days because I've been consuming at least a cup of fruit every day after reading that a study shows that eating more fruit cuts heart disease risk.

That is a nice article on how healthy fruits are. The problem is when people eat too large of a portion. 1 Fruit serving = 15 grams of carbohydrates or 60 calories. A large apple that weighs almost 8 ounces would be two servings. One serving of a banana is one small 4 inch banana OR 1/2 of a medium banana. Weighing your foods is important.

"The more fruit that was eaten, the lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, say the authors of the study, published in the European Heart Journal." Right now, I'm focused on getting more fruit into my diet. I can always get more fine-grained later. I don't think a cup of blueberries is going to break me. I now have an electronic scale - just haven't deployed it yet.

1 cup of blueberries is a great choice with 4 grams of fiber and 15 grams of sugars. However, 1 cup of sliced mango has 3 grams of fiber and 24 grams of sugars. Berries and melons are a better choice for anyone watching their carbs or sugars. supertracker.usda.gov/foodapedia.aspx

Thanks, Deb_N. Has anyone spoken to the FatSecret admins about the website's annoying habit of cutting off links in the comments?

Deb_N, they got that right about the fiber. Even blended with a cup of nonfat milk, it's like a soup.

Frost in the morning 3 days in a row now. Come on up for a break if you like. You can help with firewood.
