Bruce Bear's Journal, 13 Jan 23

After a bit of an up and down week I stumbled into doing 18:6 fasting over the past 5 days out of nowhere because I haven't been feeling hungry. I am somewhat concerned because a loss of appetite can mean a bunch of things, am I worried yes and no. I haven't been tracking my food and on Thursday I had a subway footlong plus some hot chips and chicken strips for my only meals of the day all at the one time. Tonight I had Chinese food and hot chips on the way home from shopping. I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm slightly afraid that this could lead to more unhealthy eating. So tomorrow I've got to stay clear of those things. Has this affected my mood, no I'm happy and was even singing loud earlier before I went to the shops and bought my Dad and I some Chinese food plus the cheeky hot chips for the road home 😂. I saw a snake near my exercise bike on Monday which has made me a bit sketchy about using it until I make some room in my room. Hopefully after selling these PCs in my room that will give me the money I need to buy a treadmill to avoid walking in 35⁰c+ heat or at night. Well I hope everyone had a nice work week, on to the weekend and remember to stay safe 🙂

Keep at it Bruce slog away, just take care of yourself, and a doctor visit might be on the cards for checking on that loss of appetite, take care of yourself, still doing well at 12.2kg loss <3

Loss/reduction in appetite can mean lots of things, some of them quite benign. In the hottest part if the year, lots of people have an appetite drop off. Here in Melb we're getting the 35°-40+° and the last thing i want is a big meal in this weather, lots of us are like this.

You won't need to buy a treadmill, I got mine for free from fb market place and it had been brilliant, nothing wrong with it. Once I was ready to walk outside, I paid it forward by giving it away to someone else in need for free. If you don't have fb, ask someone else to look for you. Use the money to go towards new clothes or a swimming pass. Onwards and Downwards 😊

Nothing wrong with a cheat meal every now and then. Though I’m a believer in organising it so you can look forward to it. Line it up for the week (even pick the exact dish) and you’ll be less likely to cheat leading up to it! Keep up the good work :)

Do you lift weights? those weighted balls, I call them medicine balls, they can be fun and burn extra calories. Do you know what I am talking about?

I went on FB a marketplace and picked up an excellent cross trainer for $50. The next couple of months will be too hot to walk so I figured I could use that instead. And when it’s cold and wet outside in winter I can wheel it in front of the TV 😀. You are doing really well Bruce, I had a cheat breakfast today, but still constrained and had my fish and salad for lunch and will minimise tea. God it was good. But now I have no desire to do it again tomorrow, it actually left me a little nauseous. I think that’s a good thing right? Changing habits is really hard work and takes a lot of persistence, you are doing that. Well done 👍
