That's great 🙌 It would be nice to hear about your journey. What did you try to change, what worked, what didn't and if you had followed a certain routine etc. It would be helpful to a lot of aspiring healthy people on this app. 🫶🫶🫶🥰🥰

25 May 23 by member: Bye bye weight
@bestees.au Happy to talk about my journey, The way I did it was to eat the things I love, didn't change my lifestyle too much at all. For me it has always been a numbers game and always will be. I simply counted my calories every day and kept it to a deficit. No fancy diets or anything. Just kept the calories down. I went a bit extreme for the 2nd and 3rd month and kept it to approx 1300-1400cals per day. When I noticed I was hitting plateau, I started eating more to keep my metabolism up. Now I am eating shy of 2000 cals per day, and the weight is still shedding, slowly but surely. I always ate the things I liked, but instead of polishing off half a roast duck and a full container of fried rice, I measure the duck and rice on a plate and make sure I am not pushing my overall calorie intake for the day. A few things I did stop was drinking fruit juice, drinking soft drinks such as coke. I am used to the sugar free versions of them now. Also I no longer sit at the computer and eat a whole bag of lollies or chocolates. I am aware of the calories in everything and that is my trick, just being aware. I have one cheat meal per week where I just eat as much as I want, but even then, when i count I am still below or at my RDI. I have hardly done any exercise during my journey, if anything I did 10 minutes of weight lifting once a week or a fortnight a few times. For me it is all about making changes that I can continue forever. So I didn't do anything drastic or stop enjoying the things I love. I am confident that I can maintain and even lose a bit more if I keep doing what I am doing, and I am not starving myself at all. Now I am getting to the stage where I have trained myself to feel how much food I need per day to stay below my RDI, and if I have a heavy day then that's ok, the next day I will take it easy. Other things I do that have helped is for breakfast I just have a coffee. Then maybe around 10.30am I have an apple or strawberries covered in yoghurt, lunch a small can of tuna and corn. A small packet of corn thins as a snack. By the time dinner comes around I have only consumed about 5-600 calories. I still have plenty of space to eat another 1000 calories before bed time. A dinner with 100gram rice, 150g meat, veges and sauce, will maybe be around 600 cals. then I can still have some snacks I enjoy, even a piece of chocolate if I want. The last couple of days I have had a big mac meal, I have had pizza, but still I am happy that I am not overdoing it. Different diets may work for different people, but I am pretty happy with what I am doing, happy to continue, not being hard on myself and checking in on the scales nearly every day to keep myself in check. Hope all this info helps. I think some people focus too much on what they are eating rather than how much they are eating. And when they eat something they love they then feel guilty and self sabotage even more. In my opinion we should focus on the numbers game. Not what you eat, but how much of it you eat. Another opinion of mine- there is no such thing as a fattening food. Anything with calories can be fattening if you eat more calories than your body can burn. End of story :) So far I have lost 16kgs, that was easy, no problem to maintain and even lose more. hope this helps someone!

@Srsbsnss Thanks for sharing man. I am sure it helps others and give them inspiration. It did to me. 🥰🥰 I completely agree it's moderation and monitoring on regular basis makes it achievable. I think the term restrictions that our subconscious mind doesn't like and always through a tantram because of that. 😂😂
