so much to do today around the house plus want to get out in the kayak, lift weights and have a tball game. worked asked me to come in today but I said no I'm still way too exhausted from a 70 hour week followed by a 65 hour week and I go back on call for another week starting on Friday.

Time for your family is incalculably more valuable than time at work. Your children will reside in your house less than half the years you will reside at works. Time with family will be remembered for generations to come while you will be all but forgotten soon after leaving your place of work. You will never influence the happiness any individual life at work as much as every member of your family. I could go on...

Yippee thats advice i wish i would have taken when my child was growing up. To this day she feels i placed my job above her. I did not. She’s in a demanding career so she is starting to understand but boy i wish i had really HEARD this message from you. On the other hand, i was able to retire early….but sure do wish i had taken more time with my girl.

sawe with Dons work. one of his co-workers went on vaca and the sargent called him "can you come in?" while at a racetrack in another state. uh..no. Don had these past 2 days off - sargents called and texted him 6x in the past 2 days to pick up a shifts. Nope, no, nai....he almost felt guilty cuz the officer training takes so long for new hires. .. nope. dont. theres always another work day. mun so woy to replace the time at home.
