I felt surprised and grateful for the positive comments you've all sent me today, thank you! I was essentially muttering to myself because I'm so used to keeping my hopeless 'fat thoughts' to myself.
Now because of you all I want to do better to show you all how helpful and uplifting your thoughts, sharing and suggestions are to me. Particularly in knowing that you're struggling too and not just sitting up there on a pedestal in a thin/athletic body telling me how it 'should be' done without having experienced the despair you feel when you're suddenly confined to a wheelchair and your arms won't work.
My biggest problem has been that I haven't been able to find any suitable wheelchair exercise that's effective. But today I'm searching out exercises on the internet that I can do in a wheelchair. When I find some I will put them on a flash stick to play on the TV where I can follow the moves.
I know what it's like to value something, now I want to learn how to value efforts I make and gains I make in my struggle to whittle this body down to a healthy size.

Yea no problem! I didn't know you were confined to a wheelchair. I am very sorry. This does make it harder for you, but not unattainable! I heard stories on reddit.com with ppl losing weight on a wheelchair, you can do it! :) just search for online workouts. ALSO for more modivation check out reddit progresspics. (Lol sounds like an AD but I'm serious. Inspirational)

My gosh - thanks for that. I just looked at the Reddit progress pics and it makes a difference to see real people with real bodies looking normal with normal but impressive weight loss. I'll use that to help me when I'm feeling down and see if it helps. I found 5 really good wheelchair sessions and chair sessions on-line last night with what looks like really achievable exercises for me. I've put them on a flash stick and will transfer that to the tv in the living room where I can set myself up to do the exercises after lunch today. I'm feeling as if I'm taking control instead of feeling overwhelmed. Thanks again. *I'm smiling*

Oh so glad! Just little by little! Sometimes it's hard to remind myself every little step counts .. but it really does! Although my 8 or so lbs I lost is not noticeable really yet, I still overall feel better and excited for my journey. Good blessings for your journey! BTW I meant *motivation in the above comment ;p

I am feeling tentatively proud - I tried out the chair exercises this morning on the end of the bed. The arms are still fragile with rotator cuff injury on both shoulders and have one paralysed (polio) leg so had to find ways around some of the exercises that targeted those parts but over all I followed them all the way through and it's do-able.

Oh I was just logging in my food! I am so glad I could help at all. These apps seem to be really supportive! I am so happy you were able to get toue workouts started! This is a hugeee step right! Look at it as something on your list of things to do, like brushng your teeth i guess? Hehe Just know it won't always be easy.. cause man yesterday and today I did not want to exercise hehe. The key is for me to remind myself that I can't just give up if I go off the path a tad. . Something is better then nothing right! :) take care!
