how many peeps here enjoying the ketogenic way of eating?

I started Jun 13th 2017 and lost 18kg by Oct 2017 with no exercise. Mostly maintaining my loss by eating maintenance version of keto.

Good for you 🙂 My partner and I started just over a week ago and LOVE IT... I have lost 3 kg allready and feeling great, my partner is getting similar results... You have done very well yourself 🙂 Apart from the weight loss, what other benefits do you perceive from jeto?

3 kg in a week - it would be you gut microbiome with water, not fat :-)

Yes very true, we know a lot about the gut micros, my partner has been fermenting foods for many years... It's all part of the process. The fat will go as we are in ketosis all the time. But what we like even better atm is the clearing of brain fog from too many carbs and the joy of ditching sugar 🙂 The extra energy etc...

On Keto: I am visibly slimmer by 2nd or 3rd day when the bloat clears (i measured once and i was 10cm smaller by day 3), I rarely ever feel internal rumblings or actually pass wind cos there is none, my skin is a lot clearer, i feel amazing, my teeth feel so much cleaner all the time, i sleep better, I need less sleep, no more brain fog, i am less irritable. the list goes on. i am silly to stray back to old ways. i know this way of eating is so much better in so many ways. especially considering its lots of the foods that i love. you dont know how awesome keto actually is physically speaking until you revert to old habits and feel the sluggish way you have lived like and totally accepted/blinded known as the norm for your whole life. its a huge eye opener.

it takes while to get your head around but its not difficult if you track what your eating in fat secret. happy to share info/recipes/etc and the Facebook support group i used to be in. i normally say PM me your email address but that doesnt work on here as no private messaging. ummm, not sure what to suggest. the Facebook group is called Low Carb World. that's a good start. i got all my initial info from there then did a heap of research

I’ve just started Keto. 1 week in. Haven’t weighed myself yet - apart from starting weigh in. I used to do it 15 years ago before it had a name. It definitely works well for some. I’ve committed myself to 1 whole year. 52 weeks. No cheats. We will see. I don’t like to weigh myself regularly so my next weigh in will be around Xmas. That should spur me through the silly season. Have just found this app and I’m liking what I see. I never used to track. But can see how it is so much better. I’ve got a lot of weight to shift so here I go....

have just started and realised this is how I used to eat when I was 18/20 simply because I was carb-a-phobic. It's good to get into it now in a healthier state of mind, I also plan on tailoring the Keto once I get into it. I enjoy working out and carbs are essential to performance so will have carb dinners before a work out day. Aiming to get to 50g carbs in a day after adjustment phase.
