Sunday Nov 27,2016 - Bad Motorcycle accident - A car took a sudden U turn in front of me. My then 38 year old motorcycle, my 1st one by the way, totaled. I left hospital hours later after multiple X-Rays and a Cat-scan on crutches and with strong pain meds.

Got an attorney a week later and was instructed not to discuss on social media. To keep this bottled up put me in a very dark place for a number of months. I returned back to FS May the next year and did not discuss the accident.

I will never quit. I will never surrender.

My right knee is acting up again a year and a half since my therapy. My right shoulder, the part of my body that impacted the car after it U-turned in front of me separating me from my motorcycle, I think the rotator cuff is gone. (A big reason why my sleep patterns suck because I can't get comfortable)

I am a mess right about now because I don't want to pop any pills because I am in the office and they make me loopy. I can't have them when I get home because I have dad and husband duties so a little glass of wine or 2 distracts me from pain until I fall asleep. On a good note, this week I switched to decaf in the afternoon and I am able to fall back asleep when I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

This pain will pass. I will find my way.

Next week, sunny Florida here I come!!!! I will divvy up my time between West Palm Beech, Loxahatchee and Coconut Creek FL. Thanksgiving in Florida. Yay!!!

Onward

So sorry to hear about your painful motorcycle accident. My nephew was crowded off the road by a semi and slid down a canyon. He survived but has had over a year of painful recovery. No one got the trucker's license, who never stopped.

Dude! #RealTalk Glad you are still in one piece. I was also in a motorcycle accident 20 years ago, but, only my bike was totaled, all I got was road rash. So I got a check in a week. I can only imagine what a 'real' accident with damaged rotator cuff is like! Anyway, its good you can finally share what you have been going through. Onward!

I so feel for you. My husband was in a bad car accident 30 years ago. His vehicle was T-boned and he (as passenger) went out the back window. He caught his shoulder on the rear roof support and it tore his arm so that it was on by only 3-4 inches of flesh. There were other injuries as well. He is in chronic pain and on very strong pain meds. It is a tough life to be in unrelenting pain. His rotor cuff was majorly damaged. His insurance claim took 5 years to settle. In the end he was paid $6700 per year of his remaining work life. Anyone who thinks the insurance is worth the pain is nuts!

Thanks all. I've been a bit under the weather lately and I forced myself to take a walk in the cold today as pain was unnoticeable and it helped. One day at a time.
