Well, I finally met a goal that's been floating out there for over a year. I got a gym area set up out in the garage. TV, DVD player, weights, piece of carpet, couple of fans. Decided to keep the punching bag the husband bought for me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I wanted to set everything up in our spare room in the house, but the reality is a 200 pound woman bouncing on the floors doing jumping jacks and such wreaks havoc on dishes and pictures hangings on walls and cabinets! The garage suits me just fine. I've completed two 30 minute workouts now and it feels great to be back at it. I was sore this morning from doing push ups yesterday. It is hard to comprehend just how out of shape I actually am until I did the workouts. I've been walking for 30-45 minutes a day for the last 3 weeks and I thought I was doing pretty good because I didn't get all that short winded, but doing the boot camp workouts and calisthenics got my attention quick. It really is starting over at the beginning. It is going to take weeks to get back to being able to participate fully but I've done it before and will do it again!
I am sooo pleased that I have found the keto diet because it seems to be something that I can live with happily. I really haven't missed the sweets or the breads. I've had the occasional wistful eye, but nothing significant. I know that if I can make it down to a weight I'm happy with that I can jiggle the foods around to keep myself content with what I'm eating. Nothing wrong with having a sweet treat occasionally, it just can't become a routine part of the lifestyle. I told the husband I've lived around 200 pounds my whole adult life--it's time to make a change in my lifestyle. I want to get to a healthy weight and activity regimen for once in my life and try to live there. It's just time to make those changes!
