Any Survival Tips for Holiday?

In two weeks time, I'm off on a cruise for 9 days. All the food is included and there will be a lot of all-you-can-eat buffets!

I've built some great habits over the past few weeks, and although I'm feeling pretty unstoppable, right now, I still want to have an action plan in place, because temptation will rear its head!

I know there were some great tips in this vein shared recently but I'm struggling to find them, so feel free to point me to the user whose journal that post was on if you know!

Oh, maybe I should mention that I don't intend to be perfect! I fully intend to enjoy some unhealthful food, but I just don't want to lose control, and would love to come back still feeling great!

4 small plates of food vs 4 big plates of food is a huge difference...

Smaller portions, skip dessert at lunch but have it at dinner, make sure you have meat and veggies for 2/3-3/4 of your plate and be sure to log the best you can. Also be aware that you could gain some water. I did after vacation and it came off in a week. Well most did lol. Don’t give up all treats but limit portion sizes. You’ve got this!

thank you so much for your tips! i will keep logging (hoping I can do that without internet) and take all this advice. Small plates sounds smart! I feel confident, and my fear of going backwards will hopefully keep me strong! counting down, now!!!

Take probiotics and spirilina. Enjoy your holiday but as always be sensible. You can never out train a bad diet.

In the buffet eat a plate of salad first. Put down your knife fork often. Don't add condiments. Enjoy the social aspect. Only put on your plate what you can fit in your hand. Enjoy your holiday my love. I'm sure you've earned it!

Sauces and drinks will sneak up on you too so limit those. When I can’t log immediately I wrote all food down on a piece of paper or in the ‘notes’ app on my phone. I can always log it later. Better late than never. (To limit salad dressing I add lettuce to my plate then dressing then lettuce again. Just enough dressing to do the first half of the dressing. It’s plenty for me without all the leftover on the plate after I eat).
