A couple years ago someone on here mentioned eating 3k cals a day and 5k cals a day. I swore I’d never do that but I’ve changed my mind. I’d at least once like to do it just to say I did! Bet I’d get sick on 5k, but this month has proven 3k is doable! Two days of almost that 😂. One day was cheese cake day. Another was today.

My brunch plans got postponed so we took hubbys grandma to lunch. Then my oldest played point guard for the first time ever in a scrimmage and did exceptionally well! So that meant pizza buffet for dinner. I had an entire chicken fried steak and 6 pieces of pizza today! Why not finish it off with a snickers right? Still missed the 3k mark tho! I had to guess on calories though as there was no way to weigh my food (usually bring home half and weigh that).

Do I feel guilty? No. Should I? No! Will I make it up with healthier, lower calorie meals soon? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes! His grandma is 98 1/2 and we don’t get to see her much with our schedules and covid. It’s not every day that our daughter gets to play that position and excel at it. So yes I’m full and miserable but the memories are totally worth a high calorie day! But the 5k goal might just go away because I can’t imagine how bad I’d feel doubling what I ate today! Then again vacation is coming up! Silver dollar city food is very high calorie. Then top it off with hot cocoa, cinnamon bread, fudge (can’t pass up that!) and probably candy canes and apple cider! I will get over 3k that day I’m sure!

Yesterday I unintentionally ate about 1800kcal of food. I was so stuffed, not sure if I can eat 3000kcal a day again. Looks like it's doable, depending on the type of food.👍

5k is doable. 5k super clean.... is rough. really rough , unless you got a nice 'clean' hamburger in there somewhere.

3K is easy to accidentally do with junk food and drinks. Wait for Thanksgiving I bet you'll get that 5K. I was rode tripping with a friend and when we got to our destination that evening I tracked and got to 3k. My friend isn't a tracker and she was appalled. She had everything that I had but would have a side and full sugar drinks as well. She was easily over 4K without even realizing it.

I stop logging food if I go over 2000 calories. Just don't want to know. But I would think it would be easy to do 3000, not sure about 5k - but during the holidays with a couple glasses of eggnog and all the holiday food. Beverages can really add up.

Once again - proof that beer will fix anything. That'll get you over 5K no problem. Go for the good stuff.

Sam has the right idea 😂. I hit just under 4900 calories today. Poptarts and almond butter ,banana, and jelly sandwiches for the win 🤭

Lol!! So… I tried my best last thanksgiving and didn’t make it! Tried at Christmas and didn’t make it! Most days I’m usually 1500ish but lately I’ve been 1800osh with some 2500-2800 days thrown in 😮. I should eat no more than 1800 to maintain with the occasional splurge. I’m lactose intolerant and pizza and cheese have never affected me BUT last night I was up all night with indigestion and an upset tummy! 3-4 pieces of original crust don’t bother me but 6 thin crust ones do I guess! Was going for more meat and cheese and less crust but I’ll know better next time! As for the beer… nah. I like bud light but 3-4 over an evening is my limit. Yeah I’m a light weight! I ♥️ amaretto sours though so I should check the calories on those! I’m more of a bread, cheese and sugar person! I can load up on those! I’m fact tomorrow I may have bread and cheese for lunch as I have rolls that need eaten. I need to wait until I have a bad snacky/craving day and go all out then! Or vacation as silver dollar city junk food is very high calorie! Fudge is like 800/chunk and the cinnamon bread is about 1200-1500 a loaf I think! It’ll be cold so I’ll eat way more than when we go in the summer. Plus hot chocolate and apple cider! I can have the cinnamon bread and drinks as a snack, fudge for a midnight snack and load up on their Turkey meal for dinner.

Rick you would like my husband! He can put away 5k but not ‘clean’. Same for @sam. The husband likes his beer! He drinks 8-12 to my 1-4! I remember one night commenting that he drink more beer (calories) that day than I ate in calories that day! We had been over at a friends house all day cooking, eating and drinking so it wasn’t like it was all in a couple hours or anything. On the drinks… I should switch from Diet Coke to Vanilla Coke for the day! I just hate drinking my calories unless it’s something special that I only get every now and again like cocoa or cider.
