Swam today, followed by a couple more hours in the pool with my niece, who is learning to play water polo. she's only eight and holding her own against the current. I turned the current down some, but really, it's impressive. I know I wasn't that good at that age. she did just finish four weeks of H2O polo camp though.
I'm tired, probably going to bed in a few. Hogan is doing much better today. whatever he pulled or hurt last week is healing and he's back to smiling at me. all good signs. will touch base with the vet tomorrow on whether I can start him on short walks again. that was the plan before the fall, suspect she'll want to wait a couple more days and I'm fine with that.
Swam a hard swim with the bigger paddles. spent the whole thing working hard, but working heart rate is a little lower than the last time. Now, even though I didn't get a PR on the number of strokes, I figured out when I was adjusting the current for my niece, I have maxed out the current for speed. that is so freaking cool. I can totally go back to smaller paddles and play with sets, speeds, durations, etc. to keep the intensity up, but yeah, I won the race with the pool today and I didn't even know it. 861 strokes, average heart rate 152, 10.7METs.
Got out and chopped 3" off the ends of my hair. Then I did some more to add layers. looks fine and feels so much better.
Life is looking better, but I'm going to bed early because I'm exhausted. Tomorrow's going to be another long one. Away we go. Laptop is about to die anyways. need to see if changing the battery is something I can do myself or not. I've added memory to an iMac, this can't be that much harder. another project.
lifeguard swim. head and elbows up to chase the ball. honestly, I'm impressed.
night.
