triehard's Journal, 31 Dec 22

I have never, ever, ever written down or vocalised my new year resolutions, or mid year or even mid week ones. It has made it a lot easier to cheat and lie to myself. So this public declaration is actually a bit hard to do, but I know the FS Community will help me keep the promises I am making to myself, not just for 2023 but for my future.
1. I will not drink alone.
2. I will maintain a low carb lifestyle
3. I will aim for 10,000 steps a day
Short term goal is to get down to 75kg by 30 April 2023
My concern is I may end up walking around the local park with a bottle of gin trying to get someone to drink with me …. 🤷‍♀️😃

Thanks everyone. So far so good. Keto breakfast and a walk around the park. No gin under my arm and I’m 3500 steps in. Heading to my daughters, we are making a keto paella (cauliflower rice) for tea and taking her dogs for a walk. One day at a time. 🥴

Good luck !! I'm afraid I'm one of the FS community that would join you with that gin... but only the one nip ATM (I like food too much to swap the calories for more than that...) I'll join you and chamabanana in aiming for the 10k steps (at least on weekends) 👍

My hubby is two and a half weeks into seven weeks of radiation therapy to his throat plus chemo. He can hardly eat and has lost 7 kilos in 19 days … but they are not LOST … they are on MY body. And yes… Gin, wine, Prosecco have dwelled here …. But no more! Doing the best I can … one day at a time. I’m trying to think up food he can manage .. whilst trying not to focus on food at all !!!! Going round the twist!!!

It seems we are on the same journey and goals. Though I rarely drink. Wishing you luck.

Day 3 and some of the Xmas weight is coming back off. Had great plans to park further away at work and then walk around the park nearby before and after work. Alas, the car was less than enthusiastic about going anywhere today, so I’m working at home waiting for the mechanic. It’s funny, I’m rarely at my desk in the office, but when at home they expect you to be on call at your monitor for 8 hours straight. So I’m going to do a quick block walk every hour and see what I can sneak in.

sounds like a good plan. Hope the car is fixed quickly.
