It’s not even 8:30am and I’ve already drunk FOUR cans of Diet Coke. Yesterday, I did drink 3 bottles of water, but I still had six DC’s. Those suckers are $4.99/12 on a good sale! I’m drinking $2.50 a day in soda! I’ve started thinking about donating plasma again. If I do that, I’ll have to drink tons of water and no DC for a couple days before donation. Also need to decrease fats and increase protein. This morning I had a bowl of cholesterol-lowering Old Fashioned oatmeal. Don’t know how much it will help with all the things I add to it: 1tsp butter, 1/2-oz raisins and pecans, 1tsp sugar and 1/4 cup milk. GOT to change my diet to lower my total cholesterol and LDL. Doctor hasn’t contacted me about lab results yet, but I expect to hear from him.

Checking in on you from time to time and wishing you well. I'm hanging in there, but my heart hurts, emotionally. The Lord is carrying me.

Good to hear from you Snowwhite100. Sorry you’re struggling. Grief takes time - sometimes LOTS of time. Shirley, I’ve already read the lab results. They showed pre-diabetes, high total cholesterol and high LDL. All of those were just barely into those categories. Still time for me to turn things around.

Stop the colas. Even diet. Water only. Need fizz? There are waters out there that are carbonated. I'm diabetic and it ain't no fun. Losing 20 pounds has helped me lower my insulin shots.

Dang girl you love your dc. I can’t stomach diet pop and have no desire for any pop so it’s easy for me to not drink it. Sometimes I’ll have maybe 8oz if I’m somewhere certain but rarely. I’d like a captain and coke sometimes but I’m staying away from rum so that helps:-) I know u have tried to kick the habit before so good luck!🍀

I looked at your meals for yesterday. No wonder you're pre-diabetic! You need to stop the diet cokes and try the 5.2 diet. I lost 20 so far on this. My BP, Blood sugar, A1c and all the bad things have dropped.
