Ahh the one exercise that humbles me every time, the ATG front squat!I always start by loading too much on the bar thinking I can go heavier on it than I really can. To make it worse I did drop sets to failure and I know Ill be walking funny for a few days 🤣🤣 Had a nice preworkout breakast and post workout I meal prepped some lunches for the week. Cant have a bulk without some chicken and rice lol

Man I haven’t dabbled in front squats. It feels awkward to me. What difference in muscle region do you feel it bias on?

Way to go, otb! On the squats and prep!

Chicken and rice can't be missed, interesting how you prepare it for the week, I do something similar sometimes, reheated rice has resistant starch, very good for health, I don't even exercise with an Olympic bar, but rack squats with 2 kb are difficult yes xD.

Otb how big is you gym? It looks enormous!!! Im envious of your smith machine. We traded ours for the universal years ago and i miss the safety for hubs but space is an issue.

Supergainz1 it's awkward for me as well my arms dont like getting into that position. I have done them with my arms crossed instead of my hands on the bar and it's much easier on the arms that way. Front squats requires more ankle mobilty which is also an issue for me and part of why I like to include them. As far as muscles worked they completely demolish your quads and require significantly more core activitation then back squats. There is nearly no glute or hamstring activation just pure quads. It's different and you have to drop the weight down which is the part that always gets me because in my mind I'm just doing a squat 🤣

Just looking at this hurts. Forget the quads! All I’m feeling is wrist pain with carpal tunnel if I twisted my hands like that. 😩😩😩 But if you’re good with it….good for you!!

moko thanks prep can be such a pain but for me so important money wise and just making the right choices for whatever the goal is at that time.

Shark3000 being on the road all day if I have the base of my meal prepped then I'm good. even if I just have the chicken prepped I can always grab something to go along with it. this was my first attempt at rice in the pressure cooker I need to add more time next go around it came out a bit mushy for my liking

Yearofhealth2023 I've expanded the gym so many times Lol. it's over 1/3 of our basement. have a punching and soft mats in one area that the kids love to play over there. I have a cardio section with a treadmill , a bike and a rower. the lifting section and then I have some more flooring that goes out to expand it even more for when we have multiple people using it at the same time we can spread out. I can post a pic today or tomorrow 👍it's just a normal power rack not a Smith machine but I use the safety bars whenever I lift so I can't get crushed and can fail a lift safely

wifey9707 even for me it's hard to get into that hand positioning but you can cross your arms instead and still do the same exercise. I'm practicing like this so it translates over to the Olympic lifts more. I don't do those lifts often but I like to mix them occasionally for something different.

Otb please do posts pics!!! I thought we had a big gym but it feels so full. We have room for a smith machine or a leg press but not both so we are at a standstill. Hubs wants smith i want leg press. Im still working out at pt so not an issue yet but hoping eventually to be self motivated to work out from home

Yearofhealth2023 gyms get small rela quick the more stuff you buy lol that's why I keep commandeering more parts of the basement 🤣

MorticiaAddams haha that toasted cinnamon rasin bagel with banana and honey always hits the spot before workouts or runs

Listen OTB if we were fortunate to have a basement it would be ALL gym equipment. Our master is enormous and hubs has repeatedly said he wants to take over part of it but i draw the line there. If it was up to him we would have a 300 foot house a 3000 square foot shop and 1000 square foot gym. You men😂
