So a lot has happened in the last 24 hours and most of it is good. Got a call from the rescue I get my shepherds from and they had a tiny girl who was not doing well at the ranch and could i foster her since I have done a great job leading other dogs out of insecurity? I’ve never fostered before because i know instinctively that it’s going to most likely be a fail. Enter Summer. We met at a local park, did the requisite casual introductions on a leashed walk and everyone seems to get along, so here we are on the first morning. Going for a walk in a few minutes so they can all figure out their respective place in the world. No drama last night other than Chance desperately wanting to play. She’ll warm up. He is roughly four times her size, so i get it. We’ll learn more about one another this weekend. No structured walk yesterday, but I closed the rings. We walked around the park, i moved some heavy things, i ran around the house. It adds up.
Numbers. I’m quite okay with the figures below. Blob is down to a new low at 62.6, water and muscle are back up, the rest is a fluctuation. This is why i like the smart scale. Even when it goes up, the composite figures are what carries me through. We’ll continue with the macros experiment, i need to replace some trigger foods i have around the house, but i have logged every single one of them, so that part of it is okay, I just need to replace those calories with protein. This, in a nutshell, is why logging and tracking is so useful to me. And for those that haven’t heard it before, no, it’s not medically accurate, but it lets me track trends and look back and that’s why it works for me. It doesn’t have to match the scale in the doctor’s office, it just needs to show me that the blob is receding.
Not committing to a swim today. I have family in town, a ton to do and there’s other things. I may even skip the groceries today and just stock up locally tomorrow.
This is Summer hiding behind Chance in the car. Excuse the dog hair, it’s a part of my life at this point. She’s a tiny little thing, weighs maybe 30# at this point. I have her secured to me with a leash right now so that she understands how the pack works in this house. We’ll see where we are in a couple of weeks. She is very calm and shy and might be a perfect fit as far as a dog that my mom can walk with.
