as a Greek, the way Americans say "Jy-ro" always made me giggle. "Ye-ro" with a tongue roll on the "ro" is proper pronunciation.
looks delish!! i hope you enjoy!

it was pretty amazing haven't had one in probably a year. having a poopy day so I needed a pick me up lol. they are one of my favorites and this place definitely has the best I've had. I use to have one once a week from here 😬 yup the mystery of me becoming fat wasn't too hard to figure out 🤣

Dazey. no matter how you say it, those are the best 'food in a breadstuff' on Earth! Yeah, kinda like the way we pronounce 'ricotta'...anglicized 99% of the time unless it's family or friends from The Boot and adjacent islands.

OTB was it lamb or beef? traditional gyros is lamb

OTB, just curious how is one a week the only problem?
JK. If you are eating one a week, there are probably other problems throughout the week too…lol. You could eat one a week, healthily otherwise all week, and be fine as long as it fits in, but…yeah. Who does that?
That’s why we need to moderate treats instead, even if once a week in theory isn’t enough to hurt you…it is so hard to kick that all or nothing thinking with other not-so-great habits creeping in too, once it’s every week!
If only I had learned that already…just learning that lesson today.

Mostly in Greece you'll find pork gyros but other parts of the world beef or a combo of beef & lamb. I love them all, even the chicken ones!

love gyros but it's hard to find a place around here that makes them really good. used to have a place near by but the guys closed down. I think they spoiled me for others. 😆

That sounds wonderful ! There is a Greek Orthodox Church in my community that puts on a festival every year and that is where I get my fix.

LBC, i could find similar info from a google search... which is confusing to me. My dad is full-blooded greek, mom full blooded Italian. im first gen American. You will find lamb gyros in Greece...Our family actually prefer the flavor of lamb gyros over pork ones.

LaineAndTheDog98 no it definitely wasn't one of these a week that was the problem it was eating lunch out everyday for 7 years without any knowledge or care of calories lots of pizza , subs, burritos...crap food if its all you eat. Now I could make anything fit my calories for the day juts by compensation elsewhere however that doesn't mean I actually do that often cico is only part of it.
