So, today was the final day of the South Carolina deer season which runs from October 1 thru January 1. I hunted almost every day I was not at work. I saw dozens of deer over the course of those weeks. I let all the does walk and the little ones. I was able to take three bucks; the biggest was a nice 8 point. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and cannot express the gratitude, respect and love I feel for my husband for making my season a fantastic one. He fixed me an excellent tripod stand, put in food plots and was more than understanding and forgiving for the meals that didn't get fixed because of a late hunt. Thanks, my love! Between us, we put up six deer in steaks, roasts, burger and sausage. We gave one deer each to his sister and sister-in-law who have both lost their husbands. They were more than grateful for the meat.

I have spent up to eight hours a day sitting in that deer stand, and I am grateful that I didn't put on more weight than I did. I'm ready to get back to an exercise regimen now.
