Ate half the meat, 1/4 of the cottage cheese, maybe 6 tots and two medium waffle fries covered in cheese and bacon. Unfortunately hubby wanted to rush home so I didn’t get to eat a full half of my meal. Oddly enough it settled on the way home and I’m just now wanting to snack. Not really hungry. Was bad on liquids today. Coffee this morning, can of Coke Zero, one bottle of water, 44 oz diet cherry limeade, one restaurant glass of iced tea and I’m working on a Diet Coke now. I’m sneezing, coughing, congested etc and it hurts to swallow this evening. I’d rather not eat or drink anything but I’m sipping the Diet Coke hoping that at least I’m getting some liquid in my system. Gonna be fun taking my pill soon lol. Advil cut the headache earlier but didn’t do anything for the throat.

Lol I choose cottage cheese over the veggies to get in more protein. Unfortunately the cafe was super busy and they ran out of Mac and cheese (2nd choice) and mashed potatoes (1st choice) and others. Out of 16 sides 8 were potatoes, 2-3 were fried, they were out of 4-5 items and even the small salad with no dressing was 100 calories 😳. The rest of this will probably be lunch ;). Btw I was raised on meat and potatoes. Our only veggies were carrots or corn. I’ve branched out to fried okra, green beans, cauliflower and broccoli with the occasional tomato. Squash if it’s cooked correctly. Heck I didn’t even have cottage cheese except on buffets at the pizza place a couple times a year. Veggies also don’t keep me full but raw veggies do fill me up quickly.

LZ, I don’t fry up my own because it takes too long. I save fries and tots for eating out usually. So much easier lol. We have three freezers though. One small upright, one large upright and one very small chest freezer. During summer, if we’ve gotten meat recently, the small chest will be all garden veggies, the small upright half beef half pork and the large upright all processed foods like chicken strips and pizza with the meat over flow going in it. I also have the tiny 9-12” wide freezer attached to the fridge where we keep ice packs, flour, sugar etc. If all the stores burned down tomorrow I could feed my family for a month 😁. After two weeks it would be all meat or canned soups though as I only have about 20 cans of veggies on hand and our garden didn’t produce well this summer. So wet it drowned some things then got so hot it burnt up things like green beans and then our tomatoes started coming on finally when it was time to tear up the garden to lay electric lines. Just one of those years. Currently the small chest sits empty and the small upright has some game meat and we are storing stuff for a friend who doesn’t have room for a freezer. Even so I probably have 40# of game, 10# of pork and 20# of beef. Hubbys a big eater so 1# goes to him almost every meal while the girls and I share the other pound that I cook 👍.

Sweet potato mash maybe It ceases to have any nutritional value once it hits a deep fryer hahahaha

I could go for some sweet potatoes mashed up. With butter... and cinnamon.. and whatever else they add to them minus the marshmallows 😁

Americans are weird hahahaha Marshmallows in potato you have to have a lend yeah??

At thanksgiving many Americans make a sweet potato casserole or yam casserole. My aunt says she has used both but yams from a can are sweeter. Thought they were the same but who knows. Anyway if you google it you’ll find a dish that looks like chunks or mashed sweet potatoes covered with melted browned marshmallows. I gladly finish the kids’ but I won’t touch the marshmallows!

That's sounds gross hahahaha. Is probably awesome but in my head that's gross. All a marshmallow should go on is a stick off the ground over a fire..... Even coffee and Milo is a no no hahahahaha.

I don't know what a yam is lol

The only place marshmallows belong is hot Chocalate or s'mores...

CB a couple years ago, 2016 I believe, I decided I was giving up traditional thanksgiving desserts. I decided my dessert would be a second plate containing a small amount of turkey, potatoes and gravy. A portion for a small child. Ended up eating two whole plates last year lol. This year will be challenging as I’m used to grabbing turkey every time I walk by. I’ll probably just put some on a plate and weigh it then that can be my snack plate lol.
