Approximately 18 months ago I set a goal to do one pull-up. Exactly one year ago I was able to do one mid workout and one at the end. Unfortunately our gym was shut down then my surgeries so I’ve basically been out of the gym for 7 months of those 12 months. Of the 5 months right after it was hit or miss getting to the gym as Nov-Feb is basketball for all three girls. So 6 months working my butt off, 5 months working hard whenever I could get there around 6 days a week practices and 2-5 games a week and 7 months off. It’s going to be another 2 weeks at 10#, 2 weeks of ‘normal’, 2 weeks I’m allowed to lift, then another surgery then 6 weeks off... it’ll be 2021 before I ever see the gym to actually work hard again 😭.

Weight is hovering in range but tummy getting flabby and I feel weak. Oh well. Maybe I’ll be back where I was by next summer. Disappointed because I really hoped to bench my weight by my 40th birthday.

Yeah. It’s just frustrating lol. I’m very impatient so most days when the hubby goes to the gym I get frustrated. Not so frustrated that I do regular squats at home (which I’m allowed to do) because I hate them but I’ve really considered it some days lol. 12 more days or so and I can slowly start working out again! I’ve started lifting the gallon of milk a few times before I put it away or the whole arm of grocery bags on the left side before I set them down lol. 6 year old slid off some large hay bales onto my shoulders today. Was so nice to give her a ride! I could squat down at the bouncy thing so she could just slide off and I had no actual lifting just used my legs a bit more waking with the extra 44# on my shoulders. Now if I could just find something the right height to do that at home... hmm.
