Oooof! I don't dare weight myself today, because I don't need that kind of discouragement in my life. My wife and I had a great time at our friend's Christmas BBQ yesterday arvo, though instead of my usual ~1500 calories in less than an hour, I ate (and drank) more like 2500 calories over 4 hours. Cake was involved.
I don't feel too bad about it because I haven't cheated on my diet at all since early September. Not one nibble or sip out of place. I just need to make sure I don't let it derail my diet with my ye olde excuse, "Since my diet is already ruined for today, I may as well go and eat my body weight in KFC and start fresh tomorrow." I know very well from experience that tomorrow never comes - I'm a fifthly liar who can not be trusted!
I think a good recovery plan should be enough to prevent me from bullshitting myself into a KFC Bacon & Cheese Zinger Stacker Combo for breakfast, so the plan is going to be just a small, low-carb, high-protein meal in the arvo (a juicy steak) and then to go for a hike after the kids are in bed. I'm thinking a longer route tonight - 9-10kms. Looking forward to it!
