Walking is a good exercise for fat loss and for cardiovascular as well. Walking outdoor is good too fresh air, sunshine etc. But there will be a time your recovery time is getting shorter and shorter as you become fit.

And that’s why I invested in a treadmill for home where I do my walk at 0515 in the morning for 45mins. And I just increase the intensity by increasing the elevation plus I can still recover for an afternoon gym workout.

Daily steps I make sure I hit 10000 or close to that number. I think I get around 0ver 3000 steps off the treadmill and the rest at work and a 30mins walk over my lunch hour followed with lunch and back to work.

I've found that too - the same walking tracks just don't hit the spot like they used to. Need to dust off the tread mill.

I personally target 8k just so I don’t get discouraged if I don’t make the 10k and anything over is the bonus.

5:15am 😱 good luck with that 😀 my daughter is up at the same time and off to gym .. crazy 🤣 I have dropped back from 10k plus each day during winter to 5 days per week. Been taking your advice re increasing the intensity of walks (but without the treadmill - still awaiting the elliptical). I found a mountain trail (with a track that starts just at the end of my street as it turns out -lol) 132m assent in 2km - gets my heart rate right up into that zone 5 for just a few minutes and then I get an undulating 4km circuit around the mountain and steep decent back home. About an hour all up twice a week has been hitting the spot but not at 5 in the morning hahaha...
